My parakeet was sitting on the couch and my boyfriend (who was asleep) accidentally rolled over on him. My parakeet flew away but keeps streching his wing out and acts subdued. Do you think his wing is broken or maybe it just hurts?

While I was busy at home working on the computer today I heard a bang hitting my window, shards of glass flying all over my computer desk. When I looked up I noticed blood all over the wood, and suddenly noticed something tapping against my foot. When I jumped up surprised, I looked beneath the desk and noticed a raven hopping around on one foot chirping wildly.

I quickly called the animal agency and when they came over they noticed the bird was wearing a tag from the owner living next door which you can see in the following photo as well as the window.

Since he is arab is it normal for people of their culture to own wild birds? Also, can I sue for having him let loose the bird in the first place and for damages?

Also, since he hasn't returned from his vacation, what can I do to take care of the bird who has a broken wing, and a injured talon?

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

I have lost over $500.00 in the last 3 days thinking I was buying a 5 month Blue and Gold Macaw and 2
2 yr old African greys..of course the add said FREE To Good Home and then came the descriptions and the graditude they found someone to care for their birds as they did. Then the airport starts with the fees...fees to ship/ well that seemed ok because one seller even went half of the shipping fees....then specialized crates...and then insurance and cite papers...on and on and on until i have no more money. I have put off my bills and borrowed from my roommate and i still have nothing...when asked for the insurance company name and number to verify my insurance payment would be refunded...haha.....online address doesnt exist....these people can not keep on doing this without some punishment. I have asked for my money back ( I know HAHA) or at lease one of the birds to be shipped to me. maybe we can start a check-out web site and put all our info together so others won't lose out likeme

I have parakeets and saw some extremely cheap cockatiel food on sale, and it looks the same, except for some large sunflower seeds. Is it OK to feed them this, and will they eat it?

My Parakeet is puffed up and she keeps burrowing her face into her feathers around her neck area. It looks she is biting feathers off because she has lost some around the top of her head. She has a mane of feathers around her face that she did not have before. She also has not churped in two days or so. Are these signs that she is going to go. If so about how long?

My daughter is 5 and she wants a bird. I talked with my husband and he gave us the ok to get a parakeet. Is this a good bird for her? Is it easy to care for? What do I need to buy? I have a cage already, and I know I need food…Do they need salt, special supplements, special toys? I want the bird to be friendly, so how should I go about picking the right one? Any help is appreciated.

I know will be taking care of it seeing that she is only 5 so please dont tell me she is too young, feeding the bird under my supervision is a good start at learning responsibility.

I don't mean like house breaking one, but I thought it would be cute if I had a little pigmy owl tamed just enough to come when I call it and let other people touch it.

he's 3 weeks old?

I have had him for six months and he was ten weeks old when i got him, he is a lone love bird and seemed to be attached to me, he was very tame for the first three months, he would sit on my shoulder perfectly content, for hours, and he was very quiet. I would have him out for three or four hours every night. Then after three months he started biting me. I showed him not to be scared of my finger by scratching his neck when it approached him and that problem was cured, but lately if he is in his cage he squawks loudly and rattles his bars until he is let out. When I let him out he sits on my shoulder for no more than five minutes before flying away to go in my ficus, or sit on top of his cage, and when he flies there he is still not happy, he will keep flying back and forth between the two, and he makes very angry squawks, if i approach him he will fly to the ficus, or to the cage. Is there any way i can stop this behavior?

There are not many. You may hear two or three at the most calling back and forth to each other. Very illusive. It is a small songbird but cannot get close enough to see what color or markings. It is that same song over and over.
