turn off all the lights in the room, and make it as dark as you can and with a gloved hand get it out and then when you have it contained turn the lights back on. this should help its what we do in the vet clinic.

My birds all had a tendency to bite if I put my hand inside the cage. However, if I opened the cage they eventually would come out and go directly for the top of the cage. Then I would put my hand up there with one finger out for the bird to step on. Do not hesitate. That gives the bird time to think about what you are doing. Just put your finger there under it's belly and push toward the bird. they usually automatically step up out of habit. Just make sure there are no fans on,windows opened or open doors. You can get their wings clipped but my old birds could fly anyways just not as well. Just please make sure the windows and doors are closed and the fan off..... Also, a glove tends to scare the birds... My birds hated people wearing sunglasses and hats...Those all scared them... So just butter them up and don't give them time to think. When you go to put the bir back in it's cage sometimes it won't go on it's own so it is best to put the bird directly in the cage from your finger. Then hurry and get your finger out.:) They just don't like hands inside their cages.

Put a glove on your hand. (Not something bright orange or pink b/c it could strtle the bord even more! And we don't want that...) Put your hand into the cage and ssssllllooowwwwwllllyyyy (slowly) progress towards the bird with your hand. Let the bird bite your hand as you keep on moving it foward. He/She will soon realize that tehy cannot hurt the hand, so they may give up or start nibbling at one of the fingers. Press your hand to the birds tummy slightly, and increase your force, pushing on his/her tummy, until the bird steps up onto your hand. He/she might be confused at stard biting your hand again, but move ur hand slowly out of cage. ta da~

The type and size of the cage should be carefully matched for each bird. If a cage is too small or the bars too widely spaced, the bird's wings may be injured or the pet may escape. The cage must be made of nontoxic materials that can withstand the abuse of heavy chewing. It also must be secured so that it is not easily knocked over.

ok its normall for a bird to be afraid of you in the begginging you just need to get it to trust you talk to it everyday while you feed it so its used to it .

continue this for a while and then put some food in your hand and rest it in the cage eventually he will eat it out of your hand you have his trust now and he will jump onto your finger to play

certain birds are very picky about their cage. i don't have any problems with any of my birds except my oldest Grey. he does not like to be forced to do anything. just open the cage door and let your bird come out when he wants to. you might try using a perch to bring him out and putting him in a neutral area before you try handling your bird.

I have a parakeet that bites me too. Whenever I have to take her out of her cage, I grab a small cloth or small towel and grab the bird. It doesn't hurt me now!

get used to it. Get a glove. Thet bite you because the do not trust you. Get a glove and be presistant, but not forceful. If you back away when he bites you then you are showing the bird how to get rid of you. Get a book. Birds For Dummies is pretty good.

If these are new birds, you have to give them 3days to a week to get accustomed to their surroundings before you try anything.

Just open the door. When the bird wants to come out, it will.
