Birds know when the egg is worth sitting on...often they throw out what isn't a viable egg...and if it hit the water and is cold...then no what you do, it is already over...better luck next time...and get prepared for nature to do things her way and not ours.

Hens start up laying at 18 – 20 weeks of age and a healthy hen will lay about one egg an afternoon. A fowl does not choose a hen to position eggs and eggs are produced in accordance to day gentle kinds. The eggs we purchase interior the shop ought to not fertilized (they don’t hatch). the size of the egg is dependant on the age of the hen. Older birds lay higher eggs.

Canaries will stop setting for several reasons. Some of them are: improper diet, infertile, first time hen, no mate, is naturally not going to be a good layer. Do not remove the eggs because this causes the bird to lay more. It is better for the bird to kick the eggs away herself. She will eventually realize something is wrong and stop laying on her own. Canaries are not as easy as finches, parakeets and cockatiels are to raise.

Some birds don't sit ont he eggs until the clutch is complete. If you are trying to breed, then you will need a nest and a male bird. If not, wait until she gets bored with them and then throw them away.
If she does not have a mate, they are not fertile.
The eggs will not hatch under the heat of the lamp. They will dry out and rot.
Please do LOTS of research before you try to breed and make sure that your birds are on a good diet before allowing them to lay eggs.
