I just want to thank everyone who answered my budgie Question with the sand paper. Every one of them was help and now makes alot of sense. I wanted to rate all answers Highly because i have taken alot from them all So thank you...i now know where to come to get helpful and insightful information. Don't you just love budgies? They are such sweet, energetic little creatures. I'm sure you're a good budgie owner. Just reminding you to give your budgie some nice fresh treats so he/she is as healthy as can be and will hopefully live a long, happy life. My budgies LOVE when I put a wet romaine lettuce leaf on top of the cage or clip it inside the cage. Besides corn kernels, that lettuce is their most fun treat.

Yea R O George, Budgie will b afraid until s/he gets to know you. Try a toy like mirror you hold. They can learn 2 perch on you. They love A bird bath on cage or bowl in sink. Talk & whistle to show how it is done. If you know what they like - food or toy, give it after attempt 2 do what yu want. Helps if s/he is quiet not run / fly away. Bird need grit to digest food & keep talon trim. Cuttle bone works but don't know about sand paper except on perch.
