I've been offered a breeder pair of senegal parrots. I have tried to look up breeding information on them but it seems to be far and few between. I raise cockatiels and am just getting into quakers. Are senegal parrots much different from these 2 species? are they easy to breed or difficult? would they breed in a mixed species room or do they need a more private area? How many times per year do they breed and what is the clutch size I can expect? any information is appreciated

This is my third question in 3 days and I have about a thousand more when my bird broke her beak 3 days ago we took her to the vet and I have noticed her attempting eating and drinking but I have noticed a very little amount and on average both my birds would eat at least a 1/2 cup pellets and seed (doing the transition) and a 1/2 cup of fresh veggies a day and 1/4 cup of water with their vitamins and unless my male is a big pig she has dropped her food and water intake and my question is can birds get hypoglacimia? and if they do would we do the same and give them some caro syrup to bring their blood sugar back up and also I have had the birds seperated since this has happend and its almost more stress on the both of them that they are not together and when I brought them together for a re-introduction my male sang my girl a song and started grooming her and so now my other question can I leave them together without having to worry? any information would be great.

ok, this little guy had a mate until 3 months ago. It died and the owner sold him to me.He was never tamed and is 3 years old. He hardly ever chirps and HATES coming out of his cage. But once I get him out he doesen't bite, he just wants to be held really close and if he flys away he hides ASAP and occasionally bites when u scoop him back up, but the biteing is not something I'm worried about.I've trained a bird very succesfully before, so I have an idea as to what I'm doing. However, I've never seen a bird who hides so much, even on me. When my hand is on my stomach, he burrows into it and just stays there. I love on him a lot and as long as he is not in the open he is content, but if I try to have him finger perch he immediatly flys away. Well, his wings are clipped, he tries to fly....any pointers or explinations as to why he would be so scared that he hides so much? And how do I begin to aclimate him to being out so much? he's been in our home for 2 weeks now.
Thanks in advance!

I am looking to purchase or build an attractive and functional aviary for my 7 birds. I have gone through too many cheap cages and want to finally get something that works. I want them to have space and have it also be functional in terms of cleaning and feeding. Any good suggestions??

There's a birdcage I want that seems like it has a great design. It has a build in shield with a deep base and it looks like it really helps with the mess. But I called up a pet shop and the guy said they used to carry them, but don't anymore because it's not too functional and he didn't like that there is plastic used in it's design. I'm not sure what to do because I think it looks good. Is it bad to have plastic in the design? Please look at this cage and tell me what you think. It's for a single parakeet.

He has even sussed out if my hands are behind my back (Maybe i have a towel) and he takes no chances, straight onto the bars of his cage he goes, ive tryed holding treats but he will have none of it unless i show him both hands are empty then hes quiet happy to pearch and eat out of my hand as long as i dont try to make him step up,or he's off again to stick onto side of his cage???

my yellow baby parakeet is not feeling good i think she is pragnate cause we have 2 birds but i dont know if they are both the same gender, my mom said when i was sleeping she herd them fighting and hitting the side of the cages and bitting eachother, these are the sytoms :

tired eye's, dizzyness, crumbled up feet, not eating, fighting, not flying, VERY FAST HEART BEAT, laying on the floor, and no activity. i havent had the time to feed them for a couple of days so probably thats why but i got food today and she is still not eating but the other one is the oppisite of all of the symtoms, maybe where they fought or from not eating or she is ill but just please help me.

thank you and god bless

She layed one egg and then another 2 days later. So, in my calculation she should have layed another yesterday. but she didn't they are incubating the eggs full time now. Are they finished or might she still lay one today...today would be 3 days since the 2nd was layed.
