ants are littler than birds.but think some ants can fly?just think if you were an ant you would be covered in a shadow of birds.but if you were an bird you would not be covered in a shadow. unless you went down on the ground and there was a storm.but there is alot of diffrences about ants and birds.

i had the same problem long time ago. there is no where in the world where there is no ants. i still have the same problem now and i think what really would work is get a cage with water below the cage where the bird doesn't stand on. just a wire thing they can stand on. pour water below and change it every 2 days. it has to be waterproof (plastic bottoms)

Ground Cinnamon works great, just poor line thought their path and they should retreat. You can also try Miraculous ant chalk
http://www.alibaba.com/catalog/10430525/Cockroach_Chalk.html
It is also great, draw a line thought their path and watch them head out.
Out wildlife rehab group does Birds of Prey and we have a massive ant problem, they are attracted to the food the birds eat. We use the Cinnamon and and chalk. Both with great success!

Try putting up a plexiglass shield in the bird cage. Or you could get some Borax (powder in a squeeze container) and go along the baseboards in your bird room.

Cucumber slices. For some weird reason ants hate cucumber. Saw this on one of those home sites and it really works.

put some alcohol once every few days along the doors and window seals... this should work...

or spray it down really good once every few days with raid... and that will smell for an hour or so, but it will keep them away for a few days...
