It sounds Like your bird is teritorial of his cage. Well here is how you stop him from biting your finger. Stick train him. Start having him step up on a stick and make sure that your fingers are no where near him. Gradualy over time move your fingers closer up on the stick so he will get used to your fingers and then after a while again just use your fingers again. When you budge his belly are you saying step up. If not say it then.

Now you stated that he does this sometimes. Are you sure that your bird is not mouthing you. Mouthing is not biting. They examine things with their mouth. Also very important. Do you pull away right away when his mouth is coming near you. If so you are inadvertantly teaching him to bite. He is learning "hey I have power with my beak" To prevent a hard bite adjust your hand so he can not get a good bite on you but dont pull your hand away.

He is only 5 months old they are still learning too.

Wear fuzzy gloves when you are finger training him or adjusting things in the cage. Fuzzy gloves have a cottony texture that isn't pleasant. Plus it protects your hands. When the biting no longer gets a response, he should stop.
