A co worker of my mom's is in the hospital very sick and she has a pet bird at home. he hasn't been fed for 2 days. how long can a bird go without food or water?

THANKS FOR THE ANSWERS EVERYONE, SOMEONE DID GET INTO HER HOUSE AND FEED THE BIRD...WHO WAS LUCKILY STILL ALIVE!

Not much longer then that, someone needs to feed it before it dies of dehydration

Birds should be provided with fresh food and water DAILY! They eat a lot of food, and then poop it out, but they need those nutrients. If someone hasn't fed it yet, I would tell them they had better do it, or tell this poor lady that they let her bird die.

Not even a day! Birds actually eat more than their body weight daily and without water, they will die immediately. Someone better get into her house to tend to this poor animal who cannot fend for itself!

go give it fresh water and food daily. 3 days they will be sick and die without any.

Not very long!!! Birds need to eat regularly please find a way to get in and feed him!!!
