my yellow baby parakeet is not feeling good i think she is pragnate cause we have 2 birds but i dont know if they are both the same gender, my mom said when i was sleeping she herd them fighting and hitting the side of the cages and bitting eachother, these are the sytoms :

tired eye's, dizzyness, crumbled up feet, not eating, fighting, not flying, VERY FAST HEART BEAT, laying on the floor, and no activity. i havent had the time to feed them for a couple of days so probably thats why but i got food today and she is still not eating but the other one is the oppisite of all of the symtoms, maybe where they fought or from not eating or she is ill but just please help me.

thank you and god bless

Did you know that birds have such a fast metabolism that they have to eat every hour!!!! If they where without food for a long period of time and that could be just one day there is not much hope for the one on the bottom of the cage. If you are going to have birds and I do not mean to sound harsh but you have to be more responsible and have food for them at all times!!!! The vet is your only hope now but I am sure it will not do much good. Also birds do not get pregnant they lay eggs

You are going to need to take the bird to the vet. As someone told you, birds hide their symptoms for as long as they can. This is because they are used to being prey and they do not want to show weakness. So ask your mother to make an appointment with a vet. Preferably one who specializes in birds.

Birds do need to eat on a regular basis. Nutrition is very important to all living things but birds especially.

I had a friend with a very sick dove. We took her to the vet and the vet not only was able to improve the dove's health, she gave us a lot of good information on the caring of birds.

As you are waiting for you vet appoinment, trying getting some baby food vegetables and see if the sick bird will eat that.

Good luck to you and your poor little bird.

get your bird to the vet right away - birds are extremely stoic and rarely show sickness, so when they ARE showing that they're sick (especially laying on the floor of the cage), it's something serious. take her in NOW.
