I have a Bald eagle that gets within 25 feet above me when I go outside to get the mail this past week. Its like he is watching me and trying to tell me something. I've also been seeing them along side the road while driving. Last week while driving my car I had a Bald Eagle dive down touch the ground within 15 feet of me and then jump back up in perfect timing of the same time I was going the opposite direction past him. While at the beach the other day I had one circling over head. Before this year Bald Eagles where rare around this area in Iowa.

my parakeet had babies and I really need to change and clean out the cage. Is it safe to touch the birds without stressing them out or upsetting the mother to where she stops caring for them. I have looked at sites and i am getting mixed answers from every site I look at. They are all telling me something different. Thanks for any help that anyone can give me on this.

I know that it would not hatch but will a cockatiel or any bird for that matter lay eggs without a male in the cage.

It sounds silly I know but im still a bit 50 50 about my cockatiels gender!

is there supposed to be blood around the vent of my female-egg-laying-mother-to-be-parakeet?

i know she has an egg in there... because i have done this a time or two (two times to be exact), but this time it is with a different bird.

but today i was expecting her to lay her first egg, and i noticed that she was pooping normally and when she did poop it would get stuck to her feathers around that area. So trying to be a good owner i went into the bathroom and wiped the poop off of her butt.
When i got it all off (and i did this very gently) it appeared that she had blood around her vent. WHAT DO I DO?

i am not certain if it is egg binding but she does seem to be having troubles laying her egg....this is the first time I have had her bred but she is rumored to have had babies before.

if it was my other female i wouldn't be worried but since i haven't ever seen her "method of motherhood" i don't know if she is struggling or if she is just SLOW.

ok so i have a breeding pair of parakeets and this is their first time laying but i have alreayd bred another set of parakeets.
BUT THIS TIME MY FEMALE SEEMS TO BE HAVING TROUBLES LAYING THE EGG. i was worried that it might be egg binding but i dont' know what that looks like or how to treat it.

i know this is kinda gross but i went in and noticed that her poop was sticking to her tail feathers around her vent, so i took her into the bathroom and cleaned it off....it was nasty. but i noticed that she looks like she is having blood or something around that area and i want to know what to do.

please either tell me what to do (in great detail) or give me a link to a website that would tell me what to do.

Is it a male or a female?

It was so amazing and awsome that it lifted a weight of my heart as I was sad about a little boy...
It was maybe a virtual one...
Nonetheless...
If that question was mean as a joke, it was a mean one.

I have a pair of cockatiels and they have laid 4 eggs. The first one was laid on Nov, 27 and it started getting incubated with the second one since Nov, 29. When will the first one hatch? I checked if its fertile on day 5, and it was fertile. I checked it on it's 16th day and there was a small line on the egg. There was a dark side and a light side, The dark side was covering about 70% of the egg. So, when will the first one hatch?

This morning as I was walking around my garden, I noticed something very odd. There was an owl (I think it was a tawny), lying dead on the lawn. It had a note nailed to its chest saying 'Brazil, owl, never the twain, Brazil, owl, not one to complain'.
What is going on!?

My hubby took our conure outside with him to walk the dog. We clip his wings regularly, but he didnt realize that our birds wings weren't clipped short enough this time. Anyhow, the bird flew up and away. We can hear him from time to time squack somewhere in the park, but can't spot him. Do you have any advice or know of any tactics to entice him down, to us? He's so special to us, we don't know what to do. Any help would be appreciated. I dont know if you'll get this tonite, but I thought I'd give it a chance. Blessings.

No this is not a joke. I have many bird and actually enjoy the antics of the tree rats. I have fox squirrel and greys. Last several years some the greys have solid white ears and larger then most greys. Asked our local Ag. Agent and many wildlife buffs. I did online seaches also too with no answers. One know it all farmer thought they were wanna be albino squirrels.
We enjoy these white eared tree rats and feed them. Does anyone have any info about them?
