So I've had this budgie for quite a while, and he behaves very well except for when it comes to morning time. During a time everyone's still sleeping, he's constantly screeching, waking everyone up, especially me since he resides inside my room. He's very loud, and I'm becoming very fed up with waking up to the noise, and him not being quiet. I understand budgies are talkative by nature, but is there not a way to cease this annoyingly loud screeching every single morning? Experienced bird handlers, please do tell.

I recently decided to get a lovebird. I've wanted a pet bird for a while now and I found an add in the paper and I went and got it. The bird isn't very people friendly. I've never had a bird before. Is there a way to get the bird to adjust to me? How do I do it? The bird is around 4 months old, but I don't know anything else about it. Also, how do you know if it's male or female?

We have a mature (but not quite elderly) female canary who used to have a female companion but she died a couple of years ago. I worry that she might be lonely but I'm not sure whether or not it would be a good idea to get another companion for her. If anyone knows from experience, should I get another canary?

I got my first parrot almost 2 years ago. It was a yellow nape amazon. She was almost 5 years old when I got her from a breeder. When I say she was untame. I mean she was kept in a small cage and was unable to be touched at all. I was told I would never be able to hold her. But she was a great talker. I was determined. I bought a goffin cockatoo about a month later. So she would see I meant no harm. Plus I love parrots and wanted another :) To make a long story short I think it worked. Within 9 months after buying her I could hold her, pet her, take her walking outside. She is adorable. But I still have breeders and pet store owners that it is impossible. I have had them tell me they have been raising and breeding parrots for 13 years and more and still they have never been able to tame a yellow nape amazon. I would love to hear your experiences with taming yours. :)

My bird may have broken his leg. He does not show any pain or crying and eats and still climbs inside his cage but only uses 1 leg and his beak. He is cheerful and still whistles at me but sleeps on one leg.I'm thinking he may have gotten his toenailcaught on the cage cover. Is it possible he had a stroke as when I move the leg he doesn't cry but it just hangs on his side. I don't have the money to take him to the vet. Any other ideas or suggestions?

I've had a princess of wales parrot and two budgies for nearly three months and they still bounce around in the cage like ping pong balls when I get close to them. (except the parrot) I'm trying to get them to perch on my hand when I place it next to them. How do I do that? Also, how can I tell that I can take all of the birds out of the cage without letting them fly away?

I woke up one morning and when i looked at my parakeet, his left eye looked wet and glossy and the feathers around the eye looked wet and thin. He has trouble closing the eye in the day, but when he sleeps he seems fine. I have no idea what happened, but I think my other parakeet, an older female, might have done something to hurt him. Then again it could be an illness or something that got in his eye. If anyone has any idea what is wrong and what I should do, please respond. Thanks in advance.

My 9-week-old cockatiel has makes the same high-pitched screech while sitting calmy on my shoulder, that it makes when it's trying to tell someone it doesn't want to be touched. does this sound always mean the same thing? Is there a sensativity to context that I'm missing here?

I'm going to get a green and yellow parakeet with a heart on the back of it's head. I don't know if it is a boy or girl but it's really curious and adventurous.

Im concerned with the health of my 7-year-old parakeet. Here are some odd signs i've noticed in his behavior:

aggressiveness (used to be very tame and friendly, now he bites my finger when i bring it close to him)
fatigue... looks lethargic to me, refuses to leave cage, last time he flew he could only circle the room twice... when he landed, he started panting and shaking... couldnt even climb back into the cage for about 10 minutes.
most of the time, he just sits in the cage with ruffled feathers.
he is still eating fine though, and there are no signs of a fracture, tumor, loss of feathers, or anything like that.
Do any of these symptoms sound familiar? Do you think he has some kind of a vitamin deficiency? or is it just old age?

What should i do? I hope someone knowledgeable can help me figure out the problem.
