If you can't take him/her to a vet make a hospital cage and keep it dark so he/she isn't moving around a lot. This gives the foot, leg a chance to heal. Usually if it is only a sprain it will be better in a few days. Watch for any discoloration and if it has any blackness make sure you find a vet that deals with birds and take him/her there as fast as you can get in. Good Luck hopefully it is only a sprain and your bird has a quick recovery!

What kind of bird is it? My dad and I have ducks. My dad's duck fell off its stairs to it's pool and meeses up his foot. They took it to the vet and they said they cant put a cast on it that it would have to heal on its own. and they charged them hundred dollars for that. So all you can do is carry it around wherever it needs to go but it will eventually start walking again!

You put the bird in its hospital cage, then you take it to the vet.

If you need a vet, you can find one at http://aav.org/vet-lookup

Can you put a splint on his foot? Maybe even tape and seal it with nail polish. Just make sure he doesnt peck at it.
