Birds are the same as humans, in that they have an inborn instinct to feed and love their offspring---He is so in love with you, that he is following his instinct to feed. Very natural behavior for a young bird and usually, they do it on your shoulder, or when you are near. You are doing a very good job of earning his affection!!! Be careful to return the love!!! There's a very slight chance he could be sick, but I know of nothing sickness wise, that causes those symptoms, other than LOVE. Just to be on the safe side check his nostril area, and his eyes for any discharge---also check his poop for a day or so. A change in his diet can make the poop look a little funny for a while, especially, if you're feeding him people food, like macaroni, vegetables, fruit or something he isn't used to, but people food is very good for him, as long as it's good for you. My Amazon parrot eats more people food than anything else, like corn flakes, cheerios, milk, fried egg, spaghetti rice, even hot dogs and hamburgers!!! He can hardly wait for meal-time, and usually can be found in front of the fridge, saying GOOD STUFF--IS IT HOT111 He may be a little bit spoiled, but healthy as a bear!!! Keep up the good work, cause it sure sounds like he loves you---Birdman

if you provide him socialization, no new parakeets would be needed and he won't learn all that he could. Also, keep the mirrors away if you want him to think of you as his friend. They learn more this way but you must provide daily socialization. Some birds regurgitate as a sign of affection for a toy or person that it loves. Make sure the air is clean (No smoking) and that the water is clean (multiple times daily if need be). Unclean water can lead to Giardia which is very bad for the bird. Take him to an avian vet. If the bird is regurgitating for a sexual or affectionate reason remove the toy that is causing this or let the bird calm down in his cage for a couple of moments while you're playing with him. Your best best is to check the droppings, if they're loose and runny then take him to a vet. Remember that when a bird is in the wild it's all about survival and weak animals just won't make it, birds will not "act sick" until they are literally dying. Get him to a vet.

Most likely, he is showing affection for a favorite object or person. If you don't like this behavior, just remove the toy/object or distract him. But be careful because birds hide their symptoms/illnesses because they are prey animals. if they act sick, they are targeted for food. Look for subtle signs that he's sick, like not eating as much, not playing as much, not being as loud or funny poops. If you sense anything wrong, take him to an avian certified vet right away (find one near you here: www.aav.org/vet-lookup ) hope this helps and good luck!
