In the United States a Veery is my favorite. The song is gorgeous. In Mexico its is the Brown-backed Solitaire. A friend of mine described the song perfectly, as a waterfall of broken glass. In South America its Beryl Spangled Tanager. The song is just ok, but the bird is amazing! Here is a photo of it:

I love the Wood Thrush, it's song sounds like a flute. You might hear this while walking through the forest, but not as likely in your backyard. Unless you have a forest nearby. They are related to the American Robin which is also in the Thrush family. Follow my link below to see a pic and hear the Wood Thrush call.

I have to agree with you. I also think it is neat how the Goldfinches chirp when they are flying. They are such beautiful birds. I have a thistle feeder and I get them every year.

The Meadowlark. If you never heard one start searching. Their song is fabulous and very recognizable. I remember it always from my childhood.
