Hi, are you sure there eating the eggs rather than getting spooked and jumping on them in a bid to quickly try and hide them from you? Obviously minimizing any disturbances in and around the birds is of primary importance. you mention after a few days they end up eating them so it does sound like you are disturbing mum who is then destroying the eggs because of you, have you got a nest box for them? so they can go in there and lay rather than on floor of cage?? When mum is on eggs isolate yourself and others away from her, dont keep checking to make sure eggs are there because its obvious she is getting annoyed! Also make sure she is getting plenty of calcium, this can be in form of fresh fruit/veg, cuttlefish, and also calcivet which is from the birdcare company (just google that name if needed)!

The problem is the eggs aren't fertilized. This would be the same as a girl having her period basically. Sometimes birds that mate shoot blanks the first couple times they start mating, it happens. They eat them or push them out of the cage in nature because either they smell your scent(slim, but possible) or because they aren't sterile. The only way they will hatch is if they are fertilized and depending on the day, if they are kept warm enough, its usually a few weeks. If the parents are eating them within a couple days, then you need to get an incubator and hatch them that way, and then handfeed them which will be a huge pain, but if you want to do it I would get ahold of a vet and ask them to show you some tips.

Also make sure that the female has plenty of calcium as she can die from lack of calcium due to making so many eggs. Also it could be the food, make sure they're on a natural diet, as many fresh fruits and veggies as possible, and also a pelleted diet such as harrison's would be a good place to start. Good luck!

Depends on the breed of bird as to what the correct answer would be. The sex of a bird can not always be told correctly by certain colorings, markings, etc. The only sure method of detection in some cases is an operation to verify what sex organs the bird has. In some breeds it can depend on how many layings they have had. Some breeds first time layings are never fertile and they will eat them. Sometimes even the second laying will not work as the parents do not feed the offspring correctly. We have a cockatiel that for two years we thought was a male going by color patterns and markings. Turned out it is a female and has raised several offspring now.

Egg laying and raising chicks require a lot of energy. Buy a pelleted food which is more nutritious than an all seed diet. Some companies offer breeding food. You can also increase their protein and calcium intake. Hard cooked egg and fresh fruits and veggies. Broccoli is a good source of calcium. Keep seeds at no more than 20% of the diet.Do this and in a few weeks the sweet peep peep of tiny chicks.Good luck and let us know how it works out.

maybe the eggs are not fertile. have your birds mated? that is the only way your eggs will hatch. if they have mated and you know this for sure you may need to invest in an incubator, you can get them for under 30 bucks at TSC (tractor supply store) don't buy one in the pet shop because you will pay triple.

Well if the birds keep breaking the eggs after few days that means that you dont have male and female species of that bird (or they are happy and dont want kids... just joking) My cousin had the same problem, birds would break the eggs after few days, turned out that both birds were female.... So, have them checked by some one else if you can.

It depends on what type of birds you are talking about. Some birds are actually carnivorous and they will eat their own eggs but also they can lay eggs with out them being fertile check your local library for books on breeding the birds that you have.

your birds you have might be females...if they are females then they are laying eggs because there is no male for them to mate with...also it is a good thing that they are doing this is because if they dont then they can get eggbound and thats not what you want...also i woulod leave the eggs inside the cage for about two weeks and dont touch them or bother them until that time is up then you can take them out...

then maybe a month or so later and they will lay more eggs...they do this ever month is because they dont have a male to mate with so this is just how they get the eggs out of their system...also i suggest you go see your vet because this is stressful for the bird and can even kill the bird if stressed out to much...

you can go see your vet and see what you can do to make sure your birds are not stressed out to much when they are going through this..well hope this helps and good luck with your birds...

The video games have not been out long adequate for that particular code to be made yet, in actuality, I dont think of i've got even seen it on the eastern code web sites the two. If I have been you, i might wait slightly longer, or pass on the yank Code Junkies internet site and request on their boards that they get cracking on that code. i think of it could be smart too.

Depends on what type of birds. Tropical birds usually cannot mate in typical North America conditions. They eggs come out empty.
