make sure you leave her cage outside so if she's in a tree she can see it, its her home so she could go back, its happened before
Sorry but chances are it would die pretty quickly. other predator birds would love the taste of budgie. It couldn't really do much to survive in the "big city" i doubt it packed its bags before it left!! no really, it has no food gathering skills etc....
if its likely to fly to a human, than chances are it could be okay. call your pound, because birds do get handed in n ask around.
my bird flew away a while back it was sad, so i understand ur pain

i would highly doubt that your budgie will survive in the wild. Firstlyit does not no how to provide food for itself and unless someone has provided budgie seed in their backyard that it can eat it would starve. and secondly there are many things that will potentially harm and kill your budgie including other birds such as butcher birds. I know for a fact that the budgies that have escaped from my avairy have not made it to my back fence before a butcher bird or mickey bird had attacked and killed it. As i said before i would very highly doubt that it is still alive and if it is it is because someone has caught it and kept it as a pet.

It might get lucky enough to be found by someone. Put the cage outside in a last ditch effort for a miracle. Try finding it for 2 weeks with neighborhood fliers. I doubt you will see it again and I'm sorry for your loss. In the future have its wings clipped every 6 months or so . That way this won't happen. I lost 2 at the same time and felt sick about it. Chalk it up to experience and realize you did the best you could at the time. Try to have a great Christmas.

A budgie wouldn't survive, it wouldn't know how to.
I know someone who released a budgie. The budgie was killed in less then 5 minutes by a hawk.

well if she is the only bird then leave her cage outside, the bird might recognize it. If she isnt the only bird then i know that when on ebird disappears, the other bird franticlly calls it, so leave the other bird in the cage outside.

honestly, the prospects are not good. it was raised indoors, does not know what to eat or where to find it, does not even know what a predator looks like and is not biologically adapted for this enviroment at all. plus its cold outside.

It won't survive. The other birds will attack it and kill it. Birds aren't very nice.

I would check the nearest park, and the eaves of the surrounding buildings.
