Hen same as all birds I know. Male is a **** and a young bird is a squab, same as pigeons. A group of doves is called A Cote.

It's probably a 'hen', but this could be a catch question!!!
A very young dove or pigeon is called a squab, if anyone is interested; that's probably where the word 'squabbling' comes from.

I would say the name still remains as it is if it is a female or a male i never hear someone saying anything except dove.
