I have an 8 week old Yorkie. She's very cute. But I find myself yelling at her all the time for going on my carpet instead of the pooty pads. I have to constantly watch for signs that she needs to go. But when I see her squat I take her quickly to her potty pad and she'll pee but when she has to crap she does it on my carpet. Can anybody help? I'm running out of patience.

I recently adopted a dog from the humane society. The first time I opened the door to put him outside he slipped past me and ran as fast and far as he could.
My older dog who recently passed away never did this.
Please advise.

For example if you like dogs better than cats I'd like to know why. You could say you are alirgeic to cats so you like dogs. That would be a great reason. I'm looking forward to some answers!!!

I have an extremely anxious dog that works himself into a frenzy when company comes over. We would like to give him something to help him sleep through this. We have tried Gravol but it does not even slow him down. Yes, I have been gradually increasing the dosage, but it still does not seem to work.

He is soooooo sweet and lovable, but at times, even aggresive to me, but he backs down and doesnt evere "attack" me. I vcould never have him euthanized, but I dont know of a good trainer that would cure him. Is it possible to cure permanantly a dog that is like this? I love him very much. Yes, he is fixed.

But my dog has differant "words" for differant things. Such as when he wants out, treats, or its dinnertime. I picked him up from the groomer the other day and to all of our amusement he saw me and it sounded like he said " I want my momma". I wasn't the only one who heard it so I know I'm not going crazy. He also "sasses" me when I tell him no sometimes.

my 10 month old alaskan malamute attacks his hind quarters and tail making him very irritable. he is exercised for about 2 hours a day and has plenty of toys and chews. we have been to a vet and no problem was found, she suggested it was down to boredom, since then he has been given more play and exercise but he still agressively attacks his hind quarters. if anyone has any ideas on what the problem might be (mites, skin infection, pyschological, other) then please answer this question and suggest a solution. any help will be greatfully recieved. Cheers Will

My cocker-poo is only 4 months old and he came bounding into the bathroom while I was painting my toes. His face went straight into the nail polish brush. I checked, and it didn't get on his nose or eyes, just on his cheek.

I was amazed when I saw my female cat which is in heat spray. She is an indoor cat only and not fixed. So If I get her fixed would she stop spraying?

i have tried :turning round (he walks backwards), treats (ignored), distractions(see treats), using a check chain(passers by tell me i'm being cruel even though he just tried jumping over them to get to his canine* "friend"), a tap across the "lower" back (see check chain) and making him sit. he has a harness and a halti which gives me something to grab when he starts. some people have said to just let him off of the lead but as he wont answer to his name and is a dominant dog who will get into fights so i will not try that also when someone tells me i'm being cruel i need a reply to let them know he usually gets hugs when we get home.

I have a puppy which was raised by a show breeder who owned a kennel with in and out runs. This puppy will not eliminate when took outside. Instead he returns to the house and uses his crate freely. I have tried the match method with no success. I am in need of constructive advise

reason now she is going potty all over the house. we have taken her to the vet and they said she checks out fine. what reasons do they do this if anyone has ideas please tell me, because my husbands says if she continues this she is going to the shelter. this saddens me as i dont want to give her up. she is even going number two on the rugs now. Also, we have tried everything in the world to rid her of her fleas and for some reason they wont go away, we tried all the remedies we vacuum with flea powder she wears a flea collar etc you name it, and she is an indoor only cat in case anyone asks. We live in florida and one of my friends said fleas are worse in warmer climates, is that true? i guess i have asked too many questions, sorry but i am really scratching my head over this cat. thank you very much and since i am writing this on christmas eve, merry christmas to you all and i hope you are blessed beyond measure this holiday season.
