Your not crazy your animals can communicate with you, and the sounds do sound like words. He wants to communicate with you to let you know that he loves you. My dog used to say 'mama' all the time. and a few other words. So be happy that he loves you so much. He's your best friend and will ask for nothing in return except love. So enjoy your friend, there are very rare to have and very special. They will never leave you, hurt you, or come home drunk and be abusive. So enjoy and be happy.

I have a dog that tells me to come in the kitchen and feed him by one quick bark and turning over his food dish. If I'm busy and don't respond, he waits a minute or two and does it again. He has different such signals for different things he wants to do.
I have another dog that talks to me when he wants food. He points his head up and towards me and goes "woo, woo, woo," then goes to where I put his food out.
A third dog I have simply runs in the kitchen and stares at me when she wants food. To go outside, she stands at the door and occasionally gives it a scratch, sometimes turning around to see if I'm noticing her.
Each dog has it's own way of letting it's master know what it wants/needs. It's the closest they can get to talking. We have only to learn their language to have a real "talk" with them.
Thank goodness for dogs...they protect me, keep me company, and give me totally unconditional love.

I find that my dog communicates with me in the weirdest ways. My poodle mix she likes to do things like paw my leg when i'm eating to let me know she wants to share food. She'll give me these eyes that mean she wants attention. My min pin she brings me her toy when she wants to play, she'll move her ears when she's needy and wants attention or put them up when she's listening to me talk to her. My poodle mix licks me when she wants to show she's happy. I know when I am home all day and I have to go out my min pin whines like crazy and I come back and she's jumping up and down wanting attention. I dunno what you mean really by talk, but I think you're not crazy that all animal communicate some way verbal non-verbal with their owners in such a way you will be the only one to understand or know...ita'z honestly crazy but I have 2 dogs that are my babies and I just know when something is wrong etc.

Sure if your blessed enough to have a smart dog they will talk to you mostly through body language, my dog will make sounds trying to say what he wants but no hes doesnt say words yet, my dog understands many phrases, and if I talk to him and he doesnt understand he will tilt his and really be listening hehe. I have cute phrases i use for my dog like ( Talk like a big dog?) He will bark big ,or (you wanna go out?) He gets all excited running to the back door . the phrase that gets him most excited is (Fweebie?)thinking im going to go outside and throw freesbie, he makes anxious noises as if hes trying to say yes yes thats a great plan haha. But certainly our animals try to talk to us it's those of us that are in tune or really trying to understand them that learn what they want .

The dog I had growing up could talk to me - of course not in words - but could talk to me that I understood her. Once in a while I believed that she would say things that sounds like she was immitating human speach - and I better if it was possible for a dog to do it they would indeed imitate speach.
Good Luck!!!

My Furbaby talks to me. He gives me a little sass when he doesn't get his way also. Certain looks mean certain things...Certain types of barks or noises mean other things...I think some wouldn't agree, but honestly, I think some people are just very intuned to their pets/furbabies...Like when you're a parent and you know what each of your baby's cries mean...Sometimes I don't think my puppy knows he's a puppy...I think he thinks he is as human as I am...grin...

My big sweety has all kinds of inflection in her wimpers, moans, groans, barks, and wow her facial expressions are so amazing. She was doing this one while my wife and I were in bed this morning chatting and she was upstairs in our daughters room. It was the sound that means, let me down there to play as well. We had a good laugh about it.

Mine sure do, in their own way.
We have a Husky and Malamute. The Husky is less of a talker than the Malamute as she lets us know what she thinks of us for leaving her at home when we go out for a couple hours. She howls and kinda woo woos at us when we get home. The Husky talks to us when we talk to him. He also pretty much howls and woo woos us. They are pretty comical.

My german shepherd dog has something to say about everything. She is very sassy and always has to have the last "word". And she does have a large "vocabulary" for all the things she says to me.

I do think animals can communicate to us through sounds and actions. I have cats that I swear greet me when I come home. I work near where I live, and if my cat gets out she knows what time I get off work, and walks to my office and waits for me to leave to walk me home.
