Hi, Ok I have a male cat he’s a Bombay, he’s about 4 maybe 5 years old so kinda middle aged in cat years! George wasn’t my cat originally, he belonged to a women who used to live near where one of my friends lives; George used to keep coming to my friends house and was always there when I visited. One day George’s owner came over to us and asked us if either one of us would like to keep George as he seems to like us so much. I love animals so I agreed to take him on.

His owner said she is out at work all day and her partner doesn’t like cats (I was all like, “yeah so dump the partner!”) That comment didn’t sit well with her at all. But anyways, so I live about ¾ of a mile away from this women. George at first settled down very well with me; then after eight months. all of a sudden he went missing. I then got a call from my friend who lives near the original owner of George, and she told me George is sitting outside the back door at her place! How he managed to find his way back through all the busy roads etc is beyond me. So I went back down there, fetched him back, then the same thing happened again two weeks later, so each time I got back and collect him, two weeks he stays back with me then disappears again!

So I then figured he must be missing his original owner, so I went to try and go and see her, to see maybe if she wanted him back, but she had moved away without leaving a forwarding address. My main concern obviously is George crossing those main roads, but I am at a loss of what to do, I took him to the vets who were very unhelpful and just said, “well that’s what cats do” That doesn’t help!!! I think George is doing this because that it is territory, like a male thing? He has been neutered which usually stops them wondering. I was wondering if anyone has any solutions. I have tried the Feliway cat pheromones. That didn’t really help. He is a very healthy cat otherwise. Any comments would be appreciated!

About five months ago I bought a dog off of craigslist. Its an adorable little 1 1/2 y/o bichon frise. I was told he is housebroken. He so is NOT. I have gotten him up to date with his shots, vet checked, microchipped and we just LOVE him. But I can walk him for an hour and he will pee everywhere, never poop; then come inside and poop and pee. There has to be something I can do here. Please help. I love this dog but today he peed and pooped on my daughters white bed spread(it had fallen on the floor). I don't know how much more of this I can take!

we've had a female dog approx 6 months, approx just over 1yr old -patterdale terrier cross whippet. We have another patterdale (dog). same age. Ellie is so scared off everything. She is always cowering and if you drop something or a door slams she freaks and hides. If you approach her she cowers like you are going to strike her and if if pick her up she goes stiff. On the other hand she loves to be close to me and follows me everywhere. she loves her cuddles. She also still urinates sometimes in the house. Patterdales are supposed to be working dogs but the farm she came from said she wouldn't kill anything so they sent her to rescue farm. My vet said give her time but it's been six months and i can't just hang around, i want to help her. She's a different dog when we walk her. very playful etc I don't remember her being this scared of strangers when i went to view her at the rescue centre (as we were new to her then). am i doing something wrong? how can i get her to trust us?

I have an 8 month old female black dwarf lop rabbit who lives outside in a hutch. Over these past few months, ive been finding clumps of her hair in her bed. Is it just her hormones or something? Because at around the same time she becomes angry and grumpy.

Is this normal?

I got my kitties all kinds of great toys for Christmas. These toys are lying around all over the house and my sweeties are having a ball playing with a potato! This potato doesn't smell of catnip or have a cute little bell in it. Why would they choose a potato to play with instead of the great toys they got? Is everyone's cat that way?

We brought our 2 year old Sheltie home from a breeders house yesterday and as soon as I opened the door she bolted down the street. My first instinct was to chase her which I know is wrong. She just kept running.

We hade neighbors help search through the neighborhood and eventually gave up looking last night. We had a towel and bone that the breeder gave us with her scent on it and I laid it down on our front porch with food and water. I looked outside at 6 this morning and she was laying out there.

I tried sneaking around the back but as soon as she saw me she ran again. I didn't chase her this time but just sat down on the ground. 30 minutes later she came back and now I am not sure what I should do. I am waiting for my vet to open to see if I can get a trap or tranquilizer. Any sugestions would be appreciated.

During a debate with my sister in law, we differed on what age a puppy is considered an adult? And how do you tell?

It is actually my boyfriends dog, we moved into an appartment together two months ago, and she pee's everywhere! I have raised 4 dogs before her and never had this much trouble. she is almost 2yrs old, he got her when she was about 8months old, she wasnt potty trained then either. I have tried to get him to disiplyn her but he wont, that is what I think the problem is. What I do is when I catch her in the act I firmly say "No" or "Bad Dog" and such, then I put her nose near it and say "No" again, then tap her on the butt and point at the door and say "outside". Then she imediatly goes to the door and waits for her leash to be put on. but when we get outside. if I stop she just lies down, and if I keep walking she just wont go. I usually then take her back inside and just try to keep a close eye on her. I am even having a vet come and check her out soon to see if it is a medical problem.

Help plz, I am desperate and about given up!

I saw an animal in my garden and I have no idea what it is! It had longish legs, pointy ears, was small, looked like a mink (though don't think it is one), PLEASE HELP! I even went to the library and looked for it in a nature book, but still couldn't find it! It wasn't a cat either.

My Calico Cat; Christine is not moving, nor drinking and or eating. I can't take her to a vet. I don't believe she'd make it. I've covered her because I believe it'd keep her from going into shock. She's been this way for a while.
I don't even have the cash to take her to a vet. Always believed that a living being (in this case, Christine) should live till the very nanosecond of her last breath. I don't want to be accused of murdering my own cat.
Out of respect, I read a prayer & blessed her.
I've had her since say. 1992 I think.

I have a Doberman Pinscher, and the reason I decided to get a Doberman is I have wanted one since I was ten (I am twenty-seven now) and I am a big walker, and I really wanted a large, athletic breed that could go on long walks with me, and discourage any potenial muggers/crooks, etc. She has been the perfect dog! So what made you decide to get your dog?

We have two dobermans and just moved into a new rental home, which we rented largely for the huge backyard for our dogs. Well now that we're moving in we've discovered our neighbors have a small hound mix. You can imagine the problem this creates. The fence is a 6-foot wood privacy fence, but if both of us have our dogs out at the same time, they just race up and down that side of the yard, barking and harassing each other (I'm also worried about the grass!). I don't want this to cause problems with the neighbors, so am considering getting one of those anti-bark boxes you mount on the fence that emits an ultrasonic noise when they bark, in the hopes that it will shut up their dog and ours. However, our dogs don't have a problem with just incessant barking as the product seems to indicate, they are mainly obnoxious just when this other dog is out. Has anyone had experience with these things? If this won't work, any other recommendations?

We have a 8 week old kitten named Noel. She is an indoor cat who was rescued from the wild about 4 weeks ago. She has a bad habit of running around 24/7 biting and clawing EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. We know kittens are playful, and we don't mind that, but she's a little crazier than any kitten we've ever had. Is there a good way to punish her for being evil so that she will learn to chill out?

Why do dogs like to eat pig ears? My dog also enjoys watermelon rinds and carrots. The carrots make her poop orange. Any other wierd things your dog has eaten too?

okay...i'm sure i will be making a trip to the vet pretty soon, but in the meantime, i was wondering if anyone else has had experience with this.

about two months ago, i noticed some red sores on the inside, outer edge of my cat's ear. she had one on her neck too. they went away rather quickly and i just assumed it was because my other cat is huge and was possibly playing rough.

well, now i noticed the marks are back again. a lot less on her ears now, but quite a big area on her neck....about a square inch...not a perfect square...but hopefully you get the idea.

other than these occasional marks, she is normal...no behavioral/dietary/eating changes. she is still young...about a year and a half, and does not go outside. the other cat is, and has been fine (same age...also doesn't go outside).

i am growing rather worried about it and wondered if anyone else had some thoughts. thanks.
