I see questions on here all the time about how someone's pet is ill, yet they can't afford to take it to the vet. So instead they just have the poor animal suffer. Do you think this is right?

We are thinking about buying a horse and are wondering how much land you would need to keep a horse.

My dog is a male border collie kelpie cross and is 1 year old. He is very lively and excitable. He gets regular walks and play times during the day. We live on farm so he has miles to run. During the day we let him outside into his enclosed compound with resonably high walls, but as soon as you open the back door to let him out, he is gone! The main attraction we think is the neighbour's female black lab. He shoots round there whenever he gets the chance. We are finding it incredibly annoying. He won't come back to you, even when he has direct eye contact with you and you call his name or shout 'football' or 'frisbee' or 'biscuit'. He is terrible. We have tried to put wooden posts around the compound to stop him escaping but he broke them and we try everything without making it look like a prison!
PLEASE HELP!

ok i have never owned a snake of my own before but am thinking of getting one tomorow. i wanted to know if you think it is stupid to buy one that is about 2 years old. the owner says he is tame and has never bitten except once when they first got him and tht was becaause he was holding a mouse right before he was going to hold the snake. but has never bitten since then. ive always had a littlefear of snakes but have also been facinated by them, so i was told cali kingsnakes make great pet snakes. my last question is if i do get bit how bad is the pain??lol, i just want to know. oh yeah and the guy said that im getting the snake from that they always feed the snake outside of his cage, cant remember why but is this heard of??? any info is appreciated.thanks.

I have a 7 week old Westie. Tonight I was playing with him and I noticed one eye was looking right at me and the other was looking outward...It could be either eye that does this. Is this normal?

I have a miniature Dachshund 10 week old puppy.. every time he eats he throws up, there are times I believe he gets food down cause he has energy play, but overall he throws up more than he should, its every day and almost every meal, then after he is down he keeps trying to eat it and then he just keeps throwing it up, I have taken him to the vet and they say his weight is fine and that the throwing up is normal, what is wrong with my puppy should i get a new vet or force them to look further into this?

I have a 2 year old ferret, and although she is very tame, she doesn't know to come when I call her and that is a hassle when she's out playing with my cats. How can I teach her this? Will it be more difficult because I've had her a while? Thanks =)

I adopted a two year old cat last year. we have bonded quite well during the last year. The only problem is that he wont let me hold him. I know the proper way to hold a cat (supporting it by the hind legs, etc) but my cat always squirms whenever I him hold him or try to pick him up. Any suggestions out there?

I am looking for a breed of dog who is medium to large, not a barker, sheds little, is protective and good with kids. Easy to train and smart would be good to. Does this animal exist?

My boyfriend says that I treat my beagle puppy like a baby. I don't mean to, but I simply adore him!!!! I hug him, give him kisses and rub his belly- but are some of you attached to your puppies like I am? When we are out, I'll worry about him and say "I hope Jaeger is okay" and my boyfriend will say...."He's a dog, he's fine!" I dunno, I see as more than that.

This behavior started when my 3 year old cat returned home after spending the night at the Vet Hospital. She was ill and needed to be hospitalized for 24 hours.

i lost a cat 30 mos. ago. she wandered a lot when she was a kitten even after 2 weeks she came back. i have looked at her many a time when she crossed the street but she actually looked both ways (im actually serious)
she is my favorite cat but i think that the reason that she ran away is that she was at my dads house but she had to move to my moms b/c of an allergic stepbrother. but she has visited my moms house before and once she ran away from it and 4 days later (3 minutes after my mom had called me and made me bawl my eyes out) she came back. she always comes when she is called and i really want her back. is there still hope? my dads house is only 4 miles away so is there a chance that she is still finding her way there? tips for finding her? should i be posting flyers? should i be looking in shelters? shes a very friendly kitty so do you think that someone could have taken her in? her name is luna. if someone could give me tips that would be great. thank you!. i need her!!!!!!!!

I had her on Carefreash, then switched to Aspen. At the petstore, they also had her on Carefreash.

(petsmart, very clean, and made sure everything was okay to buy from a petstore. No local breeders :(

After switching beddings, i noticed that the sneezing did subside, but still has them here and there. I have heard of a diease in rats that starts with an "M", not sure if she has this, but should i wait longer, or treat it immidiantly. What is the treatment for it? Can you send me a picture of it via link. (perferably Petsmart.com. Live in U.S.A, please in links for the U.K)

I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a brand of turnout blanket for me.

I need something at least 1200D and preferably heavy weight. I bought him a really nice one last year, but I think he bounces off trees and fence poles in his pasture, because this is only the second winter it's been used and the thing is pretty torn up.

Does anyone know of any brands that are relatively inexpensive? I'd say the top limit is 150, but seeing as the thing is probably only going to last a year I would like to pay less if possible.

I've seen some realitvely inexpensive ones on ebay, but they're brands I've never heard of. Would those hold up as well? Does anyone have experience with McAlister blankets?
