She is sleeping more than usual also, and when she sleeps I can hear her breathing like when someone has a bad cold and can't breath. Occassionally she makes a scary gasping/snorting sound, like she can't breath. She is only 3 yrs old. She has never done this before. I am not that knowledgeable about vet medicine. Can dogs get colds/allergies? Is that what this is? What can I do? Any advice is definitely welcome!! Thank you!!

I am cycling my tank for a few more days and today the water went all murkey, have i put too much water conditioner in? or would it be dust from the fan in my room?

My tank is quite small; 28L... it has a heater an air pump and a heater with coloured rocks and fake plants....

I have to fish, The fancy is abouta Black Moor and a Fancy Goldfish. 8-9cm and the black moor is about 5-6 cm. They live in a 15 liter tank. People will say they will grow very big, but I have had my Fancy for 8 months and my Black Moor for 3 months. Both of them have not seem to grow, why? Is this the size that they will stay? Please any more info about these breeds would be great. They have an air pump, filter, because I know goldfish need alot of oxygen and need a filter to because they produce alot of waste which is leathel to themselves and other fish. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. And I would like to appologise to FINATIC, I was rude and selfish. Any way thanks for any help that can be offered!

syphoned my tank today using the python to my toilet, instead of the faucet suction method to save water. But the problem was the suction was very weak, the tubing laid on the floor directly to the bathroom then UP the toilet. Because the tubing had to go back up into the toilet, is that the reason for the weak suction? I was wondering if I could put something between my tank to my toilet so the tubing slants down directly to the toilet, that way it doesn't go UP to the toilet. Before I bought the python I used a regular gravel vac into a bucket and the suction was much more powerful, could it be weak because the tubing is so long (25ft). thanks

I have a beautiful new cat and she seems intimidated by males (my hubby and stepson - household members) but not by females (friends visiting, etc.). She was a stray (vet says about 3 yrs old/she is also recently spayed) - is it possible that she had a bad experience w/ a male - she runs away when she hears them talk (I'm thinking the deeper voice) and she's skittish when someone's wearing sneakers or boots (male or female)? Don't know anything about her history. Anything to get her to come around to them? They both love cats, but she won't warm up to them. She'll only come to me, sit beside me, and they can only pet her if I'm there petting her too. She's very affection w/ me and brings me all the toys, etc., and will only sleep on my side of the bed kind of thing. They're away most of the day and I'm with her, so I'm thinking she's just more familiar w/ me - but any insights appreciated. Thanks!

Last spring, we started feeding this small cat. Eventually, he'd come just inside the sliding glass doors and eat. But after six months, he still scooted if we got within six feet of him.

When the weather got cooler, he stopped coming around as often. In order to keep our house warmer and not drive him away, his food is outside the sliding glass doors on a piece of rug. He doesn't eat often, but makes about a cup of kibble disappear. I also give him tuna, which he'll eat first. I got him some mail-order flea pills. (both for right now and to interrupt the flea-egg life cycle)

He seems more skittish than last summer. His comfort zone is now 15 feet. And even if it's farther than that, he doesn't like to see us moving around.

Any chance he'll ever cozy up to us? I'd sure like to carry him to a vet and get him some shots. Till then, I guess I'll remain a supplemental food source and not more.

Who's gotten really skittish, really feral cats domesticated?

OK, i have found out a new plan.

I have 3 danios. I don't know the gender of the danios at all. I think two of them are "female" and one is "male". The "male" started chasing the "females" and now only chases one of them. The "female" looks really tired and scared.

1)How do I tell what gender the danios are?
2)Should I separate the "female" and "male"?
3)What vegetables should I feed to the danios in addition to lettuce, cucumbers, and peas?

I'm already aware of petfinder.com, puppyfind.com, craigslist.com, and kijiji.com. Are there any other websites for advertising a puppy for free? We spent about $400 on our puppy and I feel after 4 weeks of having her, she deserves more time and attention than I'm able to give her...I have a 5 yr. old and a crawling baby. I need to find a good, warm, safe home for her, although, I'm going to miss her dearly (trust me, I've spent 2 nights crying about it already...I'm a dog lover). Please give me helpful advice!

I just received an Eclipse Hex 5 aquarium, and installed it according to the instruction booklet. After I turned the power on, i noticed that there weren't any bubbles coming out of the little "hose-like" part that juts into the tank itself. Are bubbles supposed to come out of there?

I have had my male beta for about 5 months (in a small1/2 gallon tank) I recently purchased a 10 gallon tank, and want to set it up soon.

Just wondering which fish are good with male betas. And how many would be good a number without my tank being overcrowed.
