I have two male cats. The older one is a year and a half old, about 25 lbs and neutered. The younger one is 6 months old, about 5 1/2 lbs and unneutered. The smaller cat has been mounting the older cat. While this doesn't bother me, I'm wondering if this is bad for the older cat's health?

I recently purchased a Russian Tortoise. Everyone in my family is extremely dillegent about washing their hands after handling her. But I was wondering if anyone has ever had problems with their tortoise and salmonella? I've heard iguanas and turtles are the worst for carrying it. What about tortoises?

I recently moved my one silkie bantam into the computer room and I had an idea: go to youtube.com and play silkie bantam clucks and such. We're getting 2 more silkie bantams in Spring b/c they don't have them in the winter. Is it a good idea to keep playing these sounds? Or will she think that she was spoken to and then left after the video is over? What else can I do to keep her company until Spring?

personally I see nothing wrong with it. I would rather have my dog safe in a crate the be running all over the house making a mess and knocking things over.

My last dog I tried crate training but she didn't use the crate BUT she was fine in the house and didnt make a mess.
But as a puppy she used her crate.

I love dogs. I just got a new place with a few acres of land. I was wondering how the dog breeding business is? Do you really make some good money? I"m thinking of breeding boxers as they are my favorite dog. My parents breed yorkies and seem to make some good extra money. I was just wondering what other breeders have to say? The positives and negatives of breeding boxers? I'm planning to buy a 2 year old male and a 3 year old female both AKC registered. Any advice or stories would be great. Thanks and happy holidays

We just bought a new automatic litter box. its really alot better than the old one, but i am still fighting the odors. also, not to be gross, but it leaves behind some "treasures" when it sweeps the box. ours is one that sweeps through the gravel about 10 min after cat has been in it. deposits waste in a little tub at the end. everytime i go in the room with the box i shake some baking soda in it. i had heard about that wheat type litter but i dont think it'll work in this. we have two cats. PLEASE HELP!! i am so emberassed by our little friends sometimes............

I have two bearded dragons- a girl and a boy, that are the same age, brother and sister. The boy is growing fast... and the female is still really small... She eats, drinks and goes to the bathroom, but I noticed that she is a little bit droopy, so I took her to the vet. The vet told me she probably has a birth defect and is going to die... so then i brought her back to the pet store and they told me that she most likely has a parasite that is eating all her food, and that is what is making her weak. She perks up in warm baths, goes to the bathroom, and it doesn't look unnormal.... and she eats pinhead crickets and romaine lettuce. Otherwise, she lays on her perch ALL DAY LONG and all night, and sleeps and sleeps and sleeps. Sometimes I've heard of brumating, but she isn't even 6 months old yet. As for the vet, she doesn't deal with reptiles, and I'm finding out that she doesn't even have a good reputation around here. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want to lose my female beardie.

I have a 14 month old Shepard mix, she's about 45 pounds. Everytime I leave the house she somehow gets out of her kennel and chews up shoes and other things. I've tried to leave her in the backyard but she just digs HUGE holes, and we can't have that because we are renting. She has chew toys and chew bones all over the house but would rather chew up other things. I've tried leaving her out of the kennel and she just does the same thing. (She was kennel trained before we got her) My father in law thinks that she has some sort of separation anxiety or something like that. Is there anything that I can do to get her to stop? My husband is wanting to get rid of her because we can't get her to stop chewing! Help please!

It's a proven fact that they are superior to other breeds. Just wondering what the other thoughts are out there.

Considering the fact that:

-he/she might not live long with you like a puppy will,

-he/she might dislike you because he/she prefers the owner, and;

-some adult dogs are "untrained", and will be harder to be trained because they're already adults..

My poor betta, Monet, had columnaris. I fixed the water issues and treated it and he is still recovering and Im still treating for it, but now he has small white spots all over him like ich.
The columnaris treatment is already rough on him (Im using Maracyn). I have the stuff to treat ich, but is it safe to use two harsh treatments at the same time?

(btw, I have both Rid•Ich and Coppersafe that I can treat the ich with)
