OK issue is i got my pup (4 month old Pure White Siberian Husky) So i took him to friends house so they could see him and to introduce him to Shay there 35lbs springer which is 2 years and is female. Now as im getting out of the truck Shay gets up in and sniffs him and he sniffs her...well she jsut turned around and wouldnt come around him. She has never acted like this...She used to jump up and kiss me now she wont really let me pet her either...but yesterday the day after this...at christmas dinner Shay was staying up High on like back of couches and was drooling, she did growl a few times when he came near....and snap at him once, we have never seen her act like this with any dogs...she usually gets along, our other friend has a Akita which is huge and she loves him. I jsut dont get it why she is being like this, some are saying she is jealous i got a dog cause she thought we were buds...etc others say its his Blue eyes...etc so any ideas whats going on here?

Every pet owner needs to make their own choices about what to feed their pet but honestly I’ve been shocked by what some folks here consider to be “quality” foods for their pets and strongly recommending to others. After reading many of the answers I really found myself wondering if you know what is in your pets food?

Do you know what “by products” include?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meat_by-product

Do you know that much of the “meat” used in pet food manufacturing is treat with toxic chemicals?

Do you know how to read a pet food label?

Did you know there are options to commercial pet food?

Hi, i have a baby bearded dragon about 14 weeks old. I have only had him for about 2 weeks but now he has stopped responding when i put food in the viv.

He was eating about 20 crickets a day and there was veg available all day. Now he will only eat if i hand feed him.

I have been dusting the crickets and the veg every other day and i have been spraying him once a day.

This all started the other day after i gave him some mealworms so i'm blaming them, so i'm trying small locusts now, he is still pooping though, but wont hunt his food.

This morning he is shredding his skin, could this have anything to do with the problem?

Thanks for any help.

I have two rabbits which I keep in seperate cages because they do not get along. the other night when I was feeding them I gave one the end of one bag of pellets and opened a new bag for the other. The next day, the one that ate from the new bag of food passed away. I can not say for sure that it was from the food because it was too expensive to have the necessary tests done to my rabbit but it sure seems that way. My other rabbit is still doing fine. I am now REALLY parinoid about feeding my other rabbit. I have switched to a rabbit pellet that I buy from a feed store that feeds the rabbits they sell the same kind but am still really scared. does anyone know what could have caused this or have any suggestions?

This link tells me that chicken bones are okay for them to gnaw on. So, would the bones off of some Dominos hot wings be good for them (after removing the sauce and meat personally :x) to have?

I have a schnoodle and his coat tends to be more poodle like. I brush him with a normal dog brush, the one with the metal prongs and the soft black bristles on the other side. He tends to get matted fur fairly easy I use a detangler to help out. Am I using the right type of brush for my dog?

I groom dogs for a living and I love it! What I don't love is people who treat the grooming shop like a daycare facility. If I tell a client that their dog will be ready for pick up at 1:00, they often do not show up until 3:00-4:00, etc. Once my day is done, I want to leave. Often I habg around for a couple of extra hours because 1 poor dog has not yet been picked up.
I try to tell clients that they need to come within an hour of the dog being ready but I often get stuck...
So...I am considering adding and extra charge if the dog is not picked up within an hour of completion (unless previous arrangements have been made - I am not heartless).
How do you deal with it? I am afraid I am being too accomodating and I am getting fed up now. I have been in business at the same location for the past 5 years and feel that I am being taken advantage of.
Please let me know.
Thanks

His face is swelling bad near the snout and lips mainly on the right side. now his eyes are swelling. This started about twenty minutes ago. He is six month old blue heeler. before anyone suggests this...there is not an emergency vet that is in the office tonight at least answering their phones.
We gave him a rib bone tonight and has never had any problems with them. Other than that nothing has changed in his habits. he is still kinda playing around, but he is rubbing the area with his front leg.
Do you have any suggestions as to what it is or what I can do about it until my vet gets in tomorrow?

My girl kitten (Cleo) is about 9 weeks+ old. We got her at about 5 1/2 weeks old and she gets along great with our male kitten (Stormy) who is about 12 weeks+.

Cleo was eating and drinking fine when we got her, she gets clean water and milk daily (which I change a few times) + dry and wet food which I make sure is always available. In the last week she has been trying to drink from Stormy - what would make her suddenly do this?

It confuses me because she was fine drinking milk from her bowl, but now shes trying to drink out of Stormy. Why isn't she stopping when she doesnt get milk? Shes constantly doing it even once I watch her drink milk from her bowl.
