Great danes are ANYTHING but cute,.. so why have a cute name for an animal that isn't cute? He/she will no doubt be a big, untoward, cumbersome, (yet lovable), lumbering beast of a dog,... great protector, great guardian and great friend,.. think along THOSE lines and a name should slot into place, nicely. Good luck with the naming. Here's a few based on my advice:
1. Slade.
2. Titan.
3. Baldour.
4. Drake.
5. Marble.
6. Zeus.
Any of those ok? :)

For a Great Dane?? Of course Scoobert ... or Scooby for short.
My pets' names are Pipo (3 yo Border Collie mix) and Milky (3.5 mo Basset Hound).

Cnute the Great (one of only two kings of England called the great - Cnute was the king of Denmark before he conquered the English throne - probably the greatest Dane in history).

Cute names are for toy poodles and other lap dogs. A Great Dane needs a strong name like Max.

if i ever got a male great dane it would have to be called Scooby!! you know scooby doo is a great dane. with my family, if i just look into an animals eyes for a few seconds then i somehow think of a name from there. when i got my hamster she was in the car and was exploring her cage and we went eye to eye and i thought : 'i'll call you cookie!!' the same with my rabbit
