I just got a 7-9 wk old chocolate lab. She constantly scratches and bites on herself. She has big dandruff flakes and even cries like she is in pain when she does this scratching. There are almost no fleas on her which is what I thought was the cause of her constant scratching. She also has a knot on her stomach which looks like a tumor growing under her belly and looks painful and strange. I am aware of the problem of inbreeding in the lab mixes which is a result of their poplularity so I am wondering if my new puppy is really unhealthy or just needs a little TLC.

My tender heart for animals found me taking a puppy from a Lady yesterday at Walmart tha she was giving away. I felt so sorry for the puppies. They are 6 weeks ald and no shots, have not been wormed and flea infested. Of course first thing Monday the pup will go to the vet but I need to know what to do about the fleas before then. Every flea shampoo you find says for puppies over 12 weeks of age. Does anyone know what will happen if I use this shampoo for this young of a puppy?

We have also got a new kitten who bugs the heck out of her. So could stress cause her weight loss? She was not in any means an over weight cat she weighed 10 lbs and now you can feel many of her bones sticking out and you can tell just by looking at her that she is super thin. She has always been healthy and my other 3 cats are fat. So what is going on?

I have a 6 months old Red-Eared Slider.
She seems to be healthy. Her eyes, eating, swimming, breathing, basking, etc. are fine. But the only thing that makes me worry is that she can not hunt her food floating in the water. I put her food in a glass which is in the tank. So the foods don’t float and she can eat them. But with out that glass it takes 2-3 hours for her to eat her food. It seems like she can not recognize the distance or the right position of things. She keeps on trying to eat with out that glass during she is hungry. But it makes her tired.
Maybe I’m supposed to let her practice hunting. Maybe she has become lazy, or maybe there is a problem with her vision.
Anybody know anything about this?

It looks like a German Shepherd except it is solid Orange. It is not a Belgian Malinois or Belgian Shepherd and it is not really a German Shepherd. I have been told it is a rare breed from India (very few breeders in the U.S.A.) I Spoke to someone in Hawaii he stated he sells the pups for twentyfive thousand U.S. dollars. I need to find a female cheaper than this to be a companion and breed with the male I already own.

Thanks for the help!

I found this puppy. His body was the size of a chihuahua and his face looked like one too. But his Forhead was abnormally large. He looked exactly like Brain on "pinky and the Brain" Is there a disorder or deformaty that makes dogs heads do that?

I have an orange tabby named Emmett. He is just over 4 years old. Besides from being the cutest orange tabby in the world, as well as the smartest, he also hides a hidden desire to take over the world. He tells me his plans in a series of meows and chirps.

When the time arrives for this force of power, his one weakness is crackers. It may be our only hope.

I feed 3 feral cats who hang out in my neighborhood, and occasionally they'll bring me a small dead animal and put it by my feet or on the porch. They never let me pet them or touch them, but they let me get really close. They're kind of b*tchy to be honest, and ungrateful that I'm feeding them. I don't mind feeding them because I love animals but these cats aren't friendly at all. They hiss at me even when I bring them food sometimes. Sometimes they do bring me dead animals though and I was wondering what it meant. I'm sure they mean something by doing that?

Thanks for looking into my question. Can an anubias plant be attached to a pourous or holey rock such as lace rock like a java fern plant and grow successfully. My java ferns have flourished in my cichlid tank which are attached to the lace rock, but the root system on the anubius does not seem to have the soft root system like the jave fern, and i am wondering if they would be best suited in the substrate.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

My daughter had 2 walking fish, and she lost 1 and the other 1 got very sick. We thought we were going 2 lose it as well. The only thing we can think of, was when she topped up the tank and put liquid into the water to take out the chlorine. She also feeds them mealworms and bloodworms. Well, the mealworms had fungi growing on them from sitting in the bottom of the tank for awhile. Could this have caused it? A couple of days after she put the liquid in, the dark walking fish died. The white 1 was sick. We took it out and brought in some pond water from the front yard. Filled a small tank with water just enought to cover him. He seemed to get a lot better. We tried to put him back in the big fish tank again and he went lifeless again. We had to take him out again. Could somebody please help me.
Thank you.
Diane

My friends are saying I should get a dog but I am out of the house 6am-6pm. Do you think an older dog would be OK? Any suggestions? Would a cat be better? Would love to get a pet but just don't know if it would be practical or fair. And I'm not into fish or snakes or other "stuff" Thanks

my local petco does not have sand for fish tanks, would it be possible to use reptile sand for the fishtank instead, the reptile sand is usually a calcium substrate i believe.
