my dog got shot last night. he is a 1 year bassett hound puppy.
anyways a fewmonths back one of my 3 dogs got shot with a BB gun about 13 times on his whole body, he had a rope scar on his neck and was bleeding realy bad. the next month he was shot again with a BB gun. now last night my bassett gets shot with a revolver even though he was on our land. when we got outside the dog was runnin to my other 2 dogs and got in the dog house. we tried looking at who it was that shot him but hey ran off in a white truck.the dog was not bleeding that bad but i bet it still hurt. we looked at where he got shot and we founs meat out of the wound comming out. we went in for about 3 minutes to call google 411, and get the closest vet and when wegot outside he was gone. now its 8 in the morning and were still looking for the poor dog.

I recently volunteered at an animal shelter in my home country of South Africa. I chose this place because it had a "no put down policy" (the animals never get put down). I was so positive when I got there. However that soon faded when I saw the true reality of it. The cages were so overcrowded and the animals had such bad wounds due to dog fighting. I saw so many animals there that I knew would never have a chance of finding a home. There was an aggresive boerboel stuck in a tiny cage which only had one leg. Most of these dogs had behavioural problems that made them impossible to home.

I decided to go look at another 2 shelters with the same policy and found them to be exactly the same.
Is it honestly fair to keep an animal stuck in an overcrowded cage for its entire life with such a poor quality of life?
Do u honestly think this kind of policy is more humane than say the policy of the humane society?

I just got home & my brother came up to me & said i got some bad news & i said what is it & he tried to tell me as carm as possible he told me that my cat got hit by a car & died & then i just bulled my eyes out straight away i was devastated & shocked i had that cat for 3years some idiot came around the corner really fast & hit it my mums friend seen it happen & my mum cried aswell my brother went over to it when it was on the road & lifted it off the road onto the side of the road thats what i got told i feel that its only going to get worst i feel that im not going to cope the same thing happen to me a year ago my dog died aswell i had him for 14yrs i was really upset aswell but this time i dont know what to do im going to miss him so sooo much & miss his meows & miss him around my brother told me not to look at my car but i did i seen him & his eyes were poped out of his head & all blood on him & all stuffed up im soooo angry at who ever hit my cat what do i do? my eyes are puffy

I have a pregant cat and a spayed cat and my pregant cat (Lucky) has a bed but my spayed cat ( Callie) won't leave it alone .They share everything. HELP! ( I also need to know what to do in case of birth complications since I'm about 45 miles from the nearset vet.)

well i have 3 corn snakes all about 5-6 months old. I have been feeding them frozen fuzzies lately but today i tried to feed 1 of them a live fuzzy but i guess the fuzzy was too big and the snake couldnt kill him or something. i removed the fuzzy and now i been trying to feed the snake a frozen fuzzy but it wont eat anymore(maybe scared?iono) but yea how do i know when my snakes are able to eat live fuzzies? ive been feeding them every 5 days frozen mice for the past 5-6 months.

I normally sit on the floor and read or go on my laptop and whenever I am sitting down on the floor, my cat will jump up on my shoulder and sit there for a while, I think its so cute that she does this, but I have had cats my whole life and none of them did this, (maybe it's because I treat her like shes my child? lol Oh and she also talks to me, if I meow at her, she'll meow back and it can sometimes go on and on for minutes) does anyone else have a cat that does this? Just curious.

he is a 3 year old manchester terrier. he has never had any health problems except mange when he was a puppy. he just started dry heaving out of no where. he didnt eat anything when i noticed it started. he ate his dog food and a couple treats hours ago and has yet to vomit but still keeps dry heaving. i'm stuck at work now until the early moring. what can i do? what should i do?

I have a pond in my back yard (one of those lagoon type from garden store) where my goldfish (11) are kept during the spring and summer months... I was wondering if they will breed and have babies without any help from me, or if I should do anything to the pond to encourage breeding etc. Also when are goldfish full grown... or do they keep growing for life?

She is obsessed with this little green stuffed animal frog. It's about 3 inches in length, and she tosses it up in the air, and chews on it very lightly, as if not to hurt it or something. When I take it from here she can't stand it, she has to get it back and she'll do almost anything to get it back. The thing I don't understand is that she throws it down, and rolls on it.. rubs her back on it.. what does it mean when a dog does this? (She is fixed by the way, for over a year)

i have a catfish that i have had for just over 4 months now and he was swimming around with my other fish just fine about a half hour ago and now something is wronge with him... he is running into everything in my tank even the other fish and laying belly up at the top of my tank for a min at a time and then all the sudden darting off. all the levels in my tank are fine i just checked them and i havent had any other sick fish or fish die for about a month... i dont know what is going on but i really need all the help i can get to make him better anything you can think of would be a great help thank you so much
