I normally sit on the floor and read or go on my laptop and whenever I am sitting down on the floor, my cat will jump up on my shoulder and sit there for a while, I think its so cute that she does this, but I have had cats my whole life and none of them did this, (maybe it's because I treat her like shes my child? lol Oh and she also talks to me, if I meow at her, she'll meow back and it can sometimes go on and on for minutes) does anyone else have a cat that does this? Just curious.

My previous cat used to do this. So much so, that I considered changing her name from Holly to Polly :o) She even used to want to sit on my shoulder when I was taking a bath.
Some cats just bond really well with their owners. Lucky you, to have found such a special girl.

My previous cat Holly always used to sit on my shoulder when she was a kitten. She'd even do it when I was having a bath. She only stopped when she got too big to fit comfortably on my shoulder. Instead she'd get on my lap the minute I sat down or if I was laying down she'd spoon with me. She was a lovely, gentle cat who seemed to enjoy being close to me at all times.

I had a calico named Garfunkel - she grew up with my dog
and came when I whistled. She loved to go for rides in the
car with my dog, but she always had to sit on my shoulder
on the window side...the dog rode shotgun with her own
window. She was a pretty cool cat, the last one I had as
my allergies got so bad later that I can't even get near a
cat anymore. She loved to bring me presents, her favorite
was headless lizards that she left on my bed.

Yes my girl cat does that all the time. She purrs in my ear and rubs up on me. Your cat must love you a lot. I think its so cute.

My cat does this.She has her front paws and head over one shoulder and her back legs over my other shoulder.
