my dog got shot last night. he is a 1 year bassett hound puppy.
anyways a fewmonths back one of my 3 dogs got shot with a BB gun about 13 times on his whole body, he had a rope scar on his neck and was bleeding realy bad. the next month he was shot again with a BB gun. now last night my bassett gets shot with a revolver even though he was on our land. when we got outside the dog was runnin to my other 2 dogs and got in the dog house. we tried looking at who it was that shot him but hey ran off in a white truck.the dog was not bleeding that bad but i bet it still hurt. we looked at where he got shot and we founs meat out of the wound comming out. we went in for about 3 minutes to call google 411, and get the closest vet and when wegot outside he was gone. now its 8 in the morning and were still looking for the poor dog.

Definitely report it. It sounds like it's the same person repetitively shooting and torturing your dogs.
On another note, how big is your land? And how well do you have your dogs under control? From what you have written, I have the impression that they are roaming a much larger area than that of your land? If yes, the that might be causing part of the problem, have you had any complains?
Injured animals tend to hide, so make sure you search under bushes, in holes etc.
I hope you find him and wish you all the best.

Definitely report this to the appropriate authorities - police and RSPCA (or equivalent in your country). This needs to be investigated. Firearms are not issued for shooting household pets. This is cruelty and it is a crime. Your dog is obviously in shock and will be hiding somewhere. If the shots were fired close, he may also have some hearing problems so you will have to search everywhere possible. Look in places that are quiet and secluded, he is very scared right now and will be in the quietest and most secluded area he can find. His wounds will become infected really quickly so you need to be able to find him. I hope the authorities get hold of the mongrel who did this. I wish you luck in finding your puppy and in sucessfully getting the culprit charged and punished!

You should have been making police reports all along. You now have very little evidence for the police to work with. Start now and keep calling them. I am sorry this is happening to your dogs, but I have to ask why after the first incident, you didn't take the rest of your animals into the house to protect them? That would have been my very first reaction. I would do that now, if I were you.
I sincerely hope you find your dog.

The police should have been called right away. This is animal cruelty as well as property damage and unlawful discharge of a firearm. The cops will want this idiot.
I hope you find the dog and get him the help he needs. Whether you do or not make that call and make a report. This won't stop now.I'd also put up a surveillance camera to help catch this horrible person.

Wow, this is such a horrible situation. Those mean cold hearted SOB's. Call the PD or SO file a complaint. Which is what you should have done the first time this happened.
Sorry to say, but if your dog was severely wounded he may have crawled off to die, or he may just be hiding. Check in culverts, under porches, ditches. old building, any place a dog could hide.

you darn betcha you should press charges against whoever shot your dog. especially if it was shot on your own property.
are you responsible dog owners? do you let your dogs bark or annoy your neighbors or let them run free? if not then yes deffinitely file charges if you know who did it.
call your sherrifs dept. and report this crime as well as the past crimes against your animals. also file a complaint with animal control. i hope you can find out who did it. no animal deserves to be treated that way... that's just like someone shooting you or me... were all living things and i value another living thing just as much. some people are so cold and sick and shouldn't get away with something like that... what's next their going to kill a human because they have no regaard for life?
i'll say prayers for you and your pup and hope you get the satisfaction you are seeking.
good luck,
take care

You need to find out why someone keeps shotting your dogs. Does any of your close neighbors drive a white truck? If not someone around you has a real problem.Maybe it would be best to keep your dogs close to home for awhile

YES!!! File a police report, press charges when they catch the attackers.
This person/These people have already shown that they are willing to hurt your dogs and probably won't stop there.
Good luck, and I hope you find your dog and the b@st@ards who did this to him!
EDIT: Glad you found him! Hope he's doing better!

You've got no evidence to base a case on.
Get yourself an automatic camera with a tele-lens, so that you can photograph people and vehicles.
Get some decent FENCES on your property so that (a) your dogs have to stay home and (b) passersby can not see your dogs while just walking or driving past.
Nice neighbourhood!

This is a big question. You need to call someone. My dog, Daisy, was abused, and was very close to dying before we got her. I wish that we could've pressed charges, but we didn't. Make everybody on Yahoo proud, and call someone. Good luck, and have a very Merry Christmas.
