well I feed my dog Innova because that's my personal choice. But I have nothing against people who feed their dog Purina or Science Diet. I mean who cares what people feed their pets as long as they are feeding them? I have watched Animal Cops on animal planet and some of the dogs on that show make me cry because their owners starved them. I just think it's bizarre that people freak out over what others feed their pets.

First, thanks for all the answers to my last question. But, now I have even more. I live in a rural area were most people sell registered dogs for money not blood line so i think i screwed up there. so, could someone explain in detail what a registered dog is and the importance, and what is pedigree?
the pomeranian is a parti-brindle , but her face is half white, half brown would that disqualify her from shows.
I called our kennel club and they aren't picky but they might be later if she's a good show dog.
I would take all the info I can get. I could look at the AKC online but it's alot of reading to get a little information.
Is there a way to tell what the dogs parents blood line is ?

Do you have any favorite kind of birds?

I think the Robin is my favorite, I know it eats mostly worms but... heh

I also like watching Cardinals.

Your comments?

Of course, it's impossible to say with 100 percent certainty if any such dog is a purebred, but many are much easier to identify than others.

So, are there any breeds that are nearly impossible to identify without a pedigree or else breeds that look so similar to other breeds that it's usually misidentified by shelters, vets, etc.?

For example, I saw a dog at the shelter that was labeled Poodle mix, but I had a suspicion it was a rarer breed. I took a picture and sent it to purebred rescue and found out it was indeed a Puli. If this dog were brushed and clipped like a Poodle it would be very difficult to any but the most experienced to say that it's actually a Puli not a Poodle.

I asked a similar question before, but now I'm hoping to get feedback from shelter workers and rescues.

I was petting my overweight cat last night and noticed a strange clump in his fur. Although he is a short haired cat he sometimes gets mats at the base of his tail, which I believe is because he can't reach the area to groom. I assumed that's what this was, but it turned out to be covering thick yellowish pus. I cleaned the area with anitbacterial soap and water, and found a strange circular wound, that appears to be a puncture. It is too wide to be a bite mark from a cat tooth. The wound is about 1/4" in diameter. I've been washing it and applying neosporin daily. Can anything else be done? What would have caused this wound? He is an indoor only cat, but is exposed to cats that go outside.

My Beardie is a little over 3 months old, and is very active and healthy, but he doesn't like his veggys! If I just leave them in the cage, he wont eat them, so I have to take him out, and gently stroke the side of his mouth untill he opens it, then I shove some carrots, peppers, or carrot tops into his mouth. Once their in his mouth, he will normaly eat them, but its really a hassel to do that 3 times a week! Any suggestions?
Thanks

Have had my snowshoe Siamese neutered male for a year. Brought a beatup baby kitten to the house and Ozzie (my cat) wouldn't have it. Kept the kitten in the guestroom so Ozzie would only have to deal with her between doors but this didn't matter. He always went outside in the evenings but never out of the yard and always back by 9pm. Not so the last time. On December 3, he didn't come back and I haven't seen or heard from him since. I am beside myself. Have done all I can, have read all the posts here. Has anyone had a cat come back after being gone this long? *sob*

I took him to the vet about a week ago and he was weighed at 52 lbs. I was just wondering what his adult weight will be. I did research the breed and I know that his adult weight could be anywhere between 75-130 lbs. But I was just wondering, given his current weight and age, what his adult weight would be? I've tried looking for weight charts, but I haven't found any.

Sugar is my new cockatiel and she has a toe with gangrene. My mom (who has worked with human gangrene) says she will bite it off. It's hanging on by a little tendon and I think Sugar hurts all the time. I bought some anti-biotics for her at the pet store because theres no way she can get to the vet, but what can I do to make her feel safe and loved?

My rat was biting me. Not very hard, more like a bite to find out what I was. I just got her and I was wondering how you train her not to do that. I was also wondering if it is okay to give her water in a small bowl instead of a bottle.

I got a Yorki-Poo a few nights ago, since then she hasn't eaten anything. She has been drinking plenty of water. I forced fed her some milk replacements I bought at petsmart which she seemed to like. I was wonderingi if I should maybe try wet dog food. The guy I bought her from gave me a puppy pack which cotained Royal Canin 33 but she won't even go near it. I don't think he was paying attention to her enough to even see if she was eating. He is a breeder so he has a lot of dogs. He did give me medicine for her stomach that was supposed to help her stop vomiting. She did vomit about 7 times yesterday so I started giving her the medicine and she has been fine since then with vomiting. She had diarreah all day yesterday but finally had a solid bowel movement lastnight but then turned around and ate it. I was wondering if there is something I could do to stop that? I basically have no idea what to do. I can't get her into the vet until the 28th so any advice that anyone has would be great

Recently I've noticed small speckles of blood splattered all over my bathroom sink, occasionally there are one or two large drops. They weren't coming from me or my roommate, so I wondered if they were coming from the cat, who often lays on the sink. I found that they must be coming from the cat when I looked closely at the plate we set his food bowl on top of and found similar (albeit fewer) blood splats. He is about 9 months old, was a rescued as a stray at 3 months, and has always sneezed alot, but other than that has never had any health problems other than worms (which we got rid of) and fleas (which are being treated now). I have visually inspected my cat, including looking into his mouth for missing teeth, and cannot find the source of the bleeding.

I love my dogs that are a bit of a mix!
One’s a boxer/Rhodesian ridgeback and my other dog is a German shepherd/otter hound/Irish wolfhound
They are both very healthy and lovely and I wouldn’t change a thing about them
So I’m wondering what is so great about pure breeds that make some people seem so obsessive to have them as a pet?

I don’t mean for training purposes r breeding I just mean as a pet

I have been looking and looking for a Red Male Chow for a little over a year now, and finally have found almost the perfect match, except its a 7mth old female Chow. I currently have a 3 year old Doberman Male and he's the biggest baby ever, and has never been agressive towards females, only males. My question is.............is the female chow too old to bring home and introduce to my dog? Will she be agressive or more playful like a puppy? I don't want to make my dog uncomfortable but he is bored all day and really needs a playmate, and I"ve been wanting this Chow for a very long time now. What should I do?

Thanks in Advance......
