If a breeder is selling you a 4 week old pup, chances are it comes from VERY BAD bloodlines. It may or may not be purebred, and will CERTAINLY be more likely to be aggressive and very very sick.

Please, don't buy from this person. They are a Backyard Breeder. With as many as One Million pits being killed in shelters each year, there is no reason to buy from such a horrible person.

Well basically getting papers on the dog is the only way to know. If you dont have papers, dont call it a Pit. Also the AKC does not recognize Pit Bulls as a breed. Ive gotten a 5wk old puppy before because the mother was very aggressive and killed a few pups. It was a stupid dog and got put down. I would watch who you buy from. Did you get this dog from the newspaper? Real breeders dont advertise and the pups would cost you quite a bit of money. Not a fan of blue dogs and most blue breeders are very imbred and sell the pups for $100 with no training. Anyone selling you a 4wk old pup should show you the parents and you should ask why they are selling it so soon. Dont do anything that doesnt seem right to you and dont give the dogs a bad name. But make sure you get papers on the dog or NEVER call it a Pit Bull

If you are getting it from a reputable breeder, they may have papers (AKC, pedigree) to prove it. Other than that the only other option you have is expensive blood work. It would help also if you posted a link of a pic of the pup, then myself and other answerer's can tell you off hand if it is pure bred or not. Also if it is a reputable breeder, they will not let you take the puppy at one month old, because that is way to early to separate him from his mother. It would be very irresponsible for you take it that early. Its best that you leave it with the mom until 8 weeks or more, that way it gets all the nutrients from the mothers milk, preventing any problems from lack of the milk further down the road.

First, you should not be getting a month old puppy. That will lead to behavioral/physical health problems.

Next, you would have to see the parents and their papers to know for sure. You can't just take somebody's word on it - especially with this breed - these days, there's almost no way to tell!

DNA tests, and you can also ask your Vet for their opinion.

My suspicion is that if you are getting a pup THAT young, it isn't pure bred, and the people you are getting him from are not legit.

BE CAREFUL

One month old huh? NOT a reputable breeder! Your dog is coming from a back yard breeder who ONLY wants your money!.. They could give 2 sh*ts if the dog that your buying is healthy or not. Oh, and the REPUTABLE breeder would have papers stating what breed he was. I suggest finding a different dog, or adopting from the shelter. 4 weeks is WAY to young to be away from their mother, yet another point to prove that this disgusting person that your buying this dog from wants to get rid of the dog asap so he/she doesn't have to spend any more money on the pups, and just get your money instead.

Well, if you're getting a puppy from a breeder who will give you a puppy that is only four weeks old, your breeder is a scam artist, and odds are the dog isn't a "full breed".

Of course, "blue nose" is just a fancy name for a bloodline, not a breed, anyway, so you're likely to get scammed no matter what.

Easy solution
Do not get that dog
A pup needs to be with his mom until at least 8 weeks old
why would you get a 4 week old pup?
find a good breeder or adopt a pit

Well, first off you should NOT be getting a one month old puppy! At 4 weeks they should still be getting nursed. Secondly, why buy one when you could adopt one from a shelter or a rescue!

Why would you be getting a 4 week old puppy???? Pretty BAD idea.
And if you have no concrete proof that it is a purebred, then it probably isn't.
