She just got her third one today and we also changed the vet. The first vet said after the 3rd set she can go out but the other vet said she has to have 4 sets to go out.

I have a Burrfish at the school I help out with and I got a call today and was told he has ick. But I've never dealt with a saltwater fish with ick. What should I do, he's in with 2 seahorse and a pipfish.

Hello all. I adopted two kittens from an animal shelter, both are now five months old. Since I adopted them, both have very soft stools. It's not watery and doesn't have any blood or anything unusual. They are very active and playful and eat lots of food. I feed them Purina kitty chow (dry food) and sometimes food that I cook. Since I noticed how soft the stool is, I stopped feeding them food that I cook for a whole week now to see if their stools would harden, but I have seen no improvement. I also never feed them anything dairy, and I give them lots of water. Both kitties have vaccinations and have been dewormed. What could be wrong with them?

When I cycle and or do a partial water change, can I add tap water directly to the tank and then dechlorinate the water for the amount I put in? Would the chlorine/chlorimides harm the bacteria and or fish to the point where my tank gets messed up? or is it okay?

I have had a violet goby (in freshwater) for over a year now. I'm worried that if I try to convert the tank to brackish water, I might do it too quickly and kill everything in the tank. I also don't know if my guppies (normal, not fancy) can live in brackish. I've been all over the internet looking for answers but there are so many sites that contradict one another. And besides all that, I have a silver dollar and he could use more room. (The violet goby's tank is bigger.) I'd love to hear from anyone who has kept violet gobies in freshwater successfully or has had problems because of freshwater conditions. Thanks.

i have almost 2 week old puppies that i found a couple flea on them. the mom hasn't had her flea colar on because of having the babies. should i put it back on her and will it hurt the babies? when can i give them a bath?

i am a vet assistant, but still dont know everything. but here we go. my dog loves squeeky toys. well i wasnt home, but my mom gave him a toy. he chewed just about all of it up. there were some, and i mean SOME pieces left. but they were small. he even ate the squeeky part that makes the noise. what should i do. i kind of want to wait it out, and see if he is blocked or not. if he does start to throw up im def taking him to the e. vet. but what else is there to do. i've looked everywhere for the toy, so im 95% sure he ate it. he acts fine, like nothing happend. is there anything else to do?

Hi all, I have a 55 gallon freshwater aquarium and I'm using play sand as my substrate. I've had it for a few months now and I keep seeing black patches of sand turning up in the lower layers of the sand bed. I went online and found out that you're supposed to churn the sand every 8 - 16 weeks. But I've been having to churn my sand at least once a week because the black patches keep reappearing. I try not to overfeed my fish but when I do I always make sure to scoop out any uneaten food. I do water changes every couple of days. Any ideas on how I can keep my sand from turning black so quickly? Or what could be causing this? Thanks!

I have a 7 year old male pug who for a year now has been drinking lots of water, very frenquently and then needs to go out to pee. Is this normal in older dogs the lack of being able to hold their pee. If we aren't home to let him out, he pees all over the bathroom floor. Other than this, he's healthy

I would like to add he is fully house broken since the age of 6 months.
