sigh...more puppies to add to the millions euthanized..
Puppies can die from fleas, so i suggest you get medicine from the vet, not a flea bath.
YOU DONT WASH DOGS OR PUPPIES IN DISH DETERGENT!!! The detergent is used for TICKS and you put one drop on the tick only, to immediately kill it.

Don't bath adult dogs or puppies to get rid of fleas. Waste of time. Flea collars are also pretty much a waste of time.
Get some proper flea treatments from a vets. The spray version of Frontline can be used from 2 days of age, so it will need to be that for the pups until they are 8 weeks of age. The mother can have the spot-on version of Frontline. Just don't use any flea treatment from a pet store.
People are going to tell you to bath the pups in Dawn dish soap. Please don't - you have fleas in your house now, and the mother has them too so just washing off some of the current ones will not deal with the infestation, you need proper treatment. You're supposed to flea and worm pregnant dogs so that the pups aren't born with worms and don't pick up fleas from the mother when born.

You cannot give them a bath yet, they cannot control their body temperatures yet so a bath can actually kill them.
You need to contact a vet and they will be able to help you with what to do about the 2 week old puppies- they are too young to be given regular flea medication though so a vet will have to give you the proper medication. Make sure to call the vet though because a flea infestation on such young puppies can be deadly if not treated.
Do NOT give them a bath AT ALL- no dish detergent and NO seven dust- that can kill newborn puppies!

Don't put a flea collar on mom. Don't bath the puppies. Talk to your vet. 2 week old puppies should not even have fleas. The mother should have been flea free before being bred :(

get rid of the flea collar all together- chances are you have a hartz or sargeants brand and those are bad news anyway. Start using a product from the vet such as advantage, advantix, or frontline.
No bathing the babies just yet- most vets say 6 weeks.
Pick the fleas off and put the fleas in a mixture of dish detergent and water (yes dish detergent kills fleas), pups can get anemic from too many fleas and it can kill them if left untreated.
So start picking them off tonight and call your vet in the morning.

I raised GSD's for years and used frontline on the mothers with no ill effects.
You can put seven dust 5% not the 7% on the paper in the box, be sure it is between layers though or a cloth between them and the powder, a light dusting. Fleas do not stay on the pups the whole time and will leave them.
You can also get a solution from the Vet and the pups will have to be treated for Tapeworms when they are 5 weeks old depending on weight and breed.
At this age they are too young to bathe and one or two fleas is not a huge deal, but you need to get them stopped before they really get started.
Good luck.

No. do not put the flea collar back on till she is finished weaning the pups, do to the chemicals in the collar, you dont want one of the babies getting to her neck and licking or trying to suck on the collar, its dangerous........
you can safely bathe the pups at about 4 wks, but not strong flea shampoo, go to pet store, they will be able to get you the safest shampoo for little babies...do not use flea powder at all.......
or call your vet and see if he has a milder shampoo he rather you use...
and doont bathe her yet, chemicals in shampoo, she is nursing pups, no chemicals.......

You will have to go to your vets office and get some flea spray that is safe for new borns 2 weeks old and up!
They get a spot on for mom too.
Clean the entire area where mom and pups are!
NEVER use Sevin dust anywhere near new borns! Or anywhere near your dogs! No matter what the strength it is a Poison!
Flea collars are toxic to new borns too!

The best and mildest dog flea shampoo is the original Dawn dish soap. You can bath your pups the very next day IF YOU REALLY WANT TO! Do not put the flea collar back on the Mom until she is done breast feeding. Dawn blue original!

The mother should have her flee collar on. The puppies should be atleast eight weeks old before spraying them with flee treatment that kills eggs and flees. I would not recomend an actuall flee bath intil six months of age.
