Whats your favorite dog breed and why

shelter mutt. they love you forever cuz u saved their life. plus you get the best of all the breeds they are a mix of. but i dont like designer breeds, that a cheep way of using a pet to make money...

How can I pick one? Maybe that's why I like mutts too!
In no particular order....
Dobermans - Because they are so not what people think they are. They are humongous babies and so loving. They are also big goofballs who love to play and just never grow up.
Shelties - Because they are so happy-go-lucky. A Sheltie always has a smile on it's face and energy to burn. They seem to fit every need you want a dog for...they are great watch dogs, very loyal, cute and fuzzy, and wonderful little pillows!
Golden Retrievers - Because they are some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met...even "badly bred" ones. There seems to be no end to their love.
Chows - Because you have to *earn* their respect, it's not given so freely as with some other breeds. If a Chow loves you (or even listens to you) it's because you really deserve it!
Jack Russells - Because they are little wild things, lol! They run by you so fast that they are just a blur going by. I've never seen another breed with so much bionic energy, and they are always clowns and don't care at all.

My favorite purebred dog has become the Rottweiler since I adopted one this year in January. She was 9 when I got her and she has just turned out to be the most spirited, and kind hearted dog I could ask for. I'm so glad my family and I gave her a chance, Rottweilers I have learned are excellent family dogs =)

For right now, I love coonhounds. (because that's what I have)
I think once you own a floppy eared dog, there's no going back! I love his howling too! It's such a sweet sound.
They are just big loppy sweet confident goofy loyal (not the smartest...lol) They're kind of a dog's dog.
I just love ALL dogs, but I think love coonhounds (and bloodhounds) the most.

I love my wife's German Shepherd velcro because she is smart, loyal and reliable. A beautiful dog as well.
I love my Aussie Cattledog because he's a lot like me. Just about a half bubble off plumb. He has a lot of personality, he's a challenge, and he always seems to have a surprise for me. Some surprises are more...umm... "amusing" than others...
I also like good ol' mutts....

I like Pit Bull Xs and Rottweiler Xs. I like Pit Bull Xs because they are beautiful, strong and their hearts are gold. I like Rotti Xs because of the mass and personalities they frequently have (I do not buy Xs, I usually get them pushed off on me by irresponsible people). I'd like to own a Doberman someday because of their intelligence, energy and because they make me smile. (The quality bred ones who are half-way trained do the others make me sad).
add: That's really sad that people feel the need to 'thumbs down' answers that are nothing but opinion and the basis that opinion was formed on. What is YA coming to these days?

the dogs that i have/did and are the best breeds i think are..one of my dogs was half golden half black lab..and he was sooo smart let me tell you! and my other one was a shepard mix..sassy girl! Bother passed away and just recently I adopted a 2 year old pitbull and he is soo goofy! and he won't stop kissing you!

Shih tzus. I have 3 and they are absolutely wonderful. They are extremely friendly and love everyone they come in contact with. They make you feel like a rock star when you come home. They are so sweet and lovable.

Siberian Husky I think that they are sooo pretty they remind me of wolves! ever since I saw the"lost boys" and he had one named Nanook I always wanted one! I also love toy poodles cause I own one and he's going to be 15 on new year's eve

great pyrenees - big beautiful dogs! look just like a polar bear. Very protective and loving
