It would help if you had an actual picture you could link to. Just the description you gave could be several different snakes.

Why would you get a snake you don't know how to care for???? This is why so many people want to restrict pet ownership! A picture might help or some idea of where you got it. Was it from a petstore, breeder or caught in the wild? If it was from the first two, they should have given you information on caring for it. I won't even sell and animal before I'm sure that person can care for it properly.

May I ask where you got this snake? And is she long and thin, or more heavily-bodied?

well it might be a corn snake but i dont know if thats it you might wamt to look it up and see if thats what it looks like.
