I've got news for you. There is no such thing as a miniature bulldog. Perhaps you should get a stuffed animal if you want to keep them that small forever. I truly feel for those poor creatures that are already over and badly bred. I think the cutest is the sort that can actually do the work that it was originally bred to do, like an American bulldog or a Staffordshire bull terrier. English bulldogs are riddled with health problems. They are probably one of the very worst as far as health problems go: drooling, heart problems, breathing problems, hip and elbow dysplasia, propensity towards obesity and exercise intolerance, etc etc.

The earliest you can get any puppy is 8 weeks by law in most states.

Bulldogs only live about 8 years.
I've never seen a 10 year old Bulldog.

All the wonderful things that make them Bulldogs are birth defects. Those "mushy" faces, the stocky bodies, the way their legs "bull" out. BIRTH DEFECTS.

Birth defects that are caused by inbreeding, which causes a whole host of other problems. Expensive problems. Fatal problems.

Expect eye problems (wrinkles damage eyelids), breathing problems (mushy faces cause the bones and tissues to cut off air). Problems with their elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, spines. Stocky bodies shorten the bones badly.
Stocky bodies also mush organs causing failure.

Breeders don't mention the bad things. Time and time again, people would bring their brand new Bulldog puppy into the clinic where I used to work, and be horrified of all the problems it had.

They are loving, playful, great pets. Just short lived and expensive.

You need to learn about dog ownership in general. There are some "basic" things you can learn from books. Great ones are available at libraries for free.

Good luck

Bulldogs are wonderful dogs, but make sure you do your research on the breeder. Bulldogs are prone to numerous health issues and unless the breeder is knowledgable enough about the breed to minimize the issues handed down from the parents you are going to be in the vet office ALL THE TIME!
That being said, DO NOT buy from any online source, puppy broker, petshop, or anything similar. I can guarantee any of those places are going to charge you top dollar for a puppy that will cost you thousands later and the vet's.
Just do your research to find a good breeder and you should be fine.

okay wikipedia had alot of good pictures and the full spread of health problems for bulldogs. before you move to new york make sure you know if you can have a puppy where you are moving too. puppies take alot of time and energy. maybe adopting and adult from a bulldog rescue would work better. Never ever buy over the internet! EVER! never get a puppy without being able to hold it and see it for real. Buyer beware. A woman i know got her toy poodle from over the internet, shiped to her from another state and the poor thing when it arrive had worms and was already blind in one eye. It died 3 days later and the online breeder mysteriouly vanished.

Sorry to break it to you, but there is no such thing as a miniature bulldog.
FYI, buying dogs over the internet is not the smartest way to acquire a dog.
If you would like a small bulldog, check out the french bulldog! http://www.french-bulldog-breeders.com/db_french_bulldog1.jpg
You should really do some research and go to local shelters first. Petfinder.com is a great site!
dogbreedinfo.com also has tons of information at your disposal. I just hope that you get this dog and have the time to care for it!

don't get a puppy any younger than 8-10 weeks old, they need to be with their mother until at least 8 wks old

sorry but I'm thinking that you should get yourself moved and adjusted to your apartment to see how things are before you throw a puppy into the mix... you don't want to end up having to get rid of the puppy because things didn't work out... it can be hard to have a puppy in an apartment... puppies can make a lot of noise and your neighbors may not want to deal with that... also housebreaking a puppy is lots of work, especially in the winter... just think EVERYTHING through before going through with it... if you want some company in your apartment, a roommate may be a better answer, a puppy will be lots of work... you could always adopt a dog from the humane society, it wouldn't require as much to train and you would have your companionship, and you'd also possibly save a pets life... Just some thoughts and ideas...

Well if you don't have a lot of money don't get a bull dog! They have medical problems..such as eye problems (cherry eyes to name one) bad hips...a bull dog at my work had about 5 surgeries 4 are for her hips and one for spaying..and she is almost 2!
