I have a turtle but I don't know what species it is. I want to know how to take care of it without buying stuff. I don't have enough money. I'm just a little kid with no job and whose mom won't allow to have her pet turtle at home.

Is it safe to put the turtle in water that's not warm? Cause I don't have a filter. I keep it in a plastic tub with water and she seems to like it. Also, I feed it with veggies which she also enjoys but idk how many times to feed it a day

It looks like some kind of water turtle...hard to tell from the pix. Turtles require a lot of care...their water must be kept about 75-78F so a water heater is usually needed. The tank should be at least a 60 gallon by the size of him. They need very clean water, so a filter is needed unless you clean the tank out and change the water every day. They must have a place to climb out of the water to bask under a heat lamp, and they MUST have a UVB bulb to provide the correct lighting needed for metabolizing calcium properly. A variety of protein and vegetable matter is very important as well. Without these things, turtles usually die a slow death. It would be better if the turtle was returned to the wild before it is too late if you are not able to provide for it's most basic needs.

If its an aquatic turtle
then you should keep it in water
70-90 degrees
(warm bath water works)
if u dont have a filter
ur goin to have to clean it a lot
so the turtle wont swim in its own waste
(if its an aquatic turtle)
you should go to PETCO (or another pet store)
and ask them questions
