My dogs got fleas all the time and frontline / baths don't work but I've heard that neems is good for that also he's a poodle and they have sensitive skin so maybe it'd help with that too? Just want to know if anyone else has done it

Hey everyone
I have two rats, two hamsters and a small dog. I love them all very much. Now I want a turtle as well. i was just wondering how much attention they need, what the cost would be, what kind of housing and things for fun that they need, also what kind of pets do they make.
Thanks. :)

I am working on the rescue & relocation of a feral cat colony. I had 7 cats in the guestroom (waiting to go to the vet), and one got loose in the house. He got into the air duct system in the den, which was bad enough. But ,I just went into the guest room, and it seems he walked through the system to that room, opened the vent, and YES; he freed all of his furry little friends. Now all of the cats are in the duct system, and I feel like I'm living in ALCATRAZ. Well, I just got one out. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS? ANYBODY?????

I mean, they are breeding for a purpose, right??
Someone said it's to improve the health? Like breeding two breeds with luxating patellas...the puppies will come out fine, won't they???

I have a 6 month old japanese chin puppy who is crated overnight. She was also recently spayed. She's out most of the day with me and is good with housebreaking, thats not the problem. She used to sleep all night long...now she whines and has to pee around 3-4am (even though she went to the bathroom at 12am! when I go to sleep). The whining does stop after she goes though.

My question is, has the spay surgery made her want to go during the night and go more? Or has she just started to learn that I will let her out if she whines? (I don't unless I'm sure she wants to potty).

I have a german shepherd she is 2yrs old we moved over a yr ago and since we moved she has become a nightmare to leave on her own in the house! If i am in the house with her she has to follow me everywhere i go you can see she panicks and thinks i am leaving her! When i leave her in the house when i go out just to pop to the local shop for 5mins she will bark continously and scratch at my door which she has now put a hole in from where she has scratched at it so much! When i go out i leave her in my kitchen. It feels like i cant go anywhere or do anything without her being there ALL the time. She is always in the same room as me at all times otherwise she gets upset. She isnt like this with anyone else in my household ie my partner and 4 children. I would love another animal but think it wouldn't be fair only by the way she is! ADVICE GREATLY NEEDED!!!

I just saw two Shihapoos the other day that came from the same litter and they looked sooooo different? Why is that? I thought that if they were the same breed, a Shihapoo, that they would look the same?

Was there something wrong them?

I've had a snake for about 2 months now, and I still don't have a name for her. She's a corn snake, red in colour, and about 2 feet long. What do you think?

My 6mnth old female kitten that I just got last week is so affectionate I love her and she is so great but I was wondering if maybe I am mistakeing her affection for something else When I walk in the room she runs up jumps on my shoulder and rubs her head in such a sweet way against my head/face It is the cutest but is that a way they show affection or is more likely something else (my 7 mnth old male kitten who we had first and as very mad at me for getting him what i thought would be a companion he is not affectionate at all really so i am not sure if that is normal) Also she had ear ites when she was brought in to the shelter but they got rid of them her rubbing her head on me (and ears) is not a sign of them coming back right??? Also she is very tiny for her age but she was also sick as a baby with a bad cold and pink eye and even a heart murmur but they said she was ok now we just have to take her for another ecko in a few mnths & she has been eating so much lately is that normal

Why do you think that German Shepherds, Dobermans, etc. are for experts only? How do you know if you're already an expert and can have those kind of breeds?

I put a flea collar on my cat a couple of days ago, I'm just wondering if they work?

I'm using ExelPet.

He hasn't had any irritation but he keeps scratching but I think it's the fleas.

I love animals and have had just about every one (dogs, hamsters, fish, chameleons, worms, horses, etc) and was wondering if a parrot would be right for me. I'd be looking to buy a bigger breed like a Macaw, but don't spend much time at home on a regular work day. Would a parrot work?

I was just watching the news and I saw a story that broke my heart. An older gentleman had let his dog out to go to the bathroom and he said kids around 15 years old had come up to his dog and put a 2 inch slash in him. The dog had to get 15 stitches. The man I don't believe got a good look at who the teens were. But it just made me think of how much someone in a case like this should serve jail time even if they are teens a few days would teach them a lesson. It's so sad that an animal who is helpless and not really able to defend itself could be harmed like that. Imagine what it is going through and how it can't even talk to tell you the pain it feels. I think punishment for harming animals should be comparable to if it was a person.

Not to sure how to explain it but I'm pretty sure you know what I'm talking about...when you sorta squeeze (not to hard obviously) the back of the snakes neck, what does it do..does it stun them? Do They get scared and try to bite when you let go? Professional answers only please.
