My 6mnth old female kitten that I just got last week is so affectionate I love her and she is so great but I was wondering if maybe I am mistakeing her affection for something else When I walk in the room she runs up jumps on my shoulder and rubs her head in such a sweet way against my head/face It is the cutest but is that a way they show affection or is more likely something else (my 7 mnth old male kitten who we had first and as very mad at me for getting him what i thought would be a companion he is not affectionate at all really so i am not sure if that is normal) Also she had ear ites when she was brought in to the shelter but they got rid of them her rubbing her head on me (and ears) is not a sign of them coming back right??? Also she is very tiny for her age but she was also sick as a baby with a bad cold and pink eye and even a heart murmur but they said she was ok now we just have to take her for another ecko in a few mnths & she has been eating so much lately is that normal

She's afraid you'll leave her. It'll get better as her confidence grows. Just love and care for her. She just became you're best freind. Merry Christmas from Brian&Stimpy

Kittens usually come to see their human keeper as a substitute parent. Though they tend to lose this affection as they mature, kittens are naturally affectionate creatures so it's easy to nurture this expression of love to a lifetime of loving companionship, making cats the perfect companion animal. People who don't "get" this are usually misinterpreting the cat's actions, and wind up getting a dog.

As for the male ... cats in the wild are by nature solitary creatures, so affectionate cats that bond to their owner are often at odds with this instinct to be a solitary hunter. The trick is to help them find a good balance between the two warring instincts.

And yes, kittens eat a lot.

don't worry. i have two cats just like yours. it took my 7 year old cat about 2 -3 weeks to get use to my new 5 month old kitty. my little one is very affectionate as well. about the rubbing of the ears it is possible that the ear mites could come back. you will want to check both kitties for those. i would take them both to the vet if possible or at least call to see what they say. when it comes to her being tiny for her age, my 7 year old was to ( could have been a runt of the littler) but my 7 year old turned out to be a 16 pound cat. remember each kitty just like just is different personality, body shape and size etc. the eating allot is normal, shes a growing kitty. my 7 year old kitty still eats allot-lol. just always remember, that lots of love, food, attention and regular trips to the vets will keep your kitties happy and healthy! good luck!

Cats have scent glands on the side of the face. The cat is marking you as hers. Your 7 month old will get used to her. I have a similiar thing going on right now, and they are getting closer each day. Did you treat the ear mites with meds....oh the shelter did. Sorry, dah......

Eating a lot is good. She is making up (I swear they do that) for not having enough food in her early days.

Growing kittens eat a lot, so thats normal. You might want to get her checked for ear ites again, if you're worried. But its probably nothing. As for the 7 month old, they'll get along eventually. When I first brought my kitten home, my 3-year-old hid in the basement. But now they cuddle on the couch! Its so cute!! Good luck with your kitten, she sounds adorable!!!

if your worried call your vet. it doesn't sound to bad, but it couldn't hurt to have her ears checked out again. and if an animal is sick, they most likely will not be eating at all. oh and just in case make sure you are feeding her food with as little ash content as possible. it causes major problems later in life. the main thing being kidney failure. it's really sad watching them waste away. happened to my cats before they came out with a statement saying ash is bad for your cats.

Your cat rubbing against you is her shedding her smell on you. My cat does it everytime I take a shower because her smell is off me. Also cats do it to show love. The ear mites won't come back usually, she is just rubbing her head and ears against you to love you, put her smell on you, or to get you to pet her.

It is normal for kittens to be like this, and it's not a sign of them coming back at all! That's just a sign of her telling you that she loves you. :)

A heart murmur doesn't usually fix itself, but it's not fatal, so that's nothing to worry about.

Similarly, growing cats eat a lot, just like kids!
So, it's nothing to worry about, it's normal.

she just loves u soooo much for taking such good care of her. bu show your male cat the same attentions so he won't get jellous and start doing bad stuff to get your attention. check your female for mites now and then just to make sure that they were taken care of.

You are very lucky, your kitty loves you! Also most cats like to have their ears rubbed whether or not they have ear mites.
