Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Because they are ultimate lap dogs. Highly intelligent, easy to train. Naturally well mannered. VERY affectionate. Easily adaptable to any situation. They love everyone including small children. They are never aggressive and hardly ever bark. They are perfect family dogs. They are like a Golden retriever in a small body. And best of all they are so freak-in adorable! They draw a crowd every where i go.
My puppies...

I have a 4 month-old Havaton, it's a mix breed between a Havanese and a Coton de Tulear. Grady is seriously the best, best dog! Everyone who comes in contact with him doesn't want to let him go, he's so sweet and affectionate, but very playful, quirky and cute. He's also very smart - he learned how to play fetch by himself and has not taken long at all to potty train. He's about 8 pounds now, so the Vet thinks he'll be between 14 and 17 pounds as an adult. We figured he'd be smaller than that since his mom is 10 pounds and his dad is 14, but it looks as though he'll be a big boy! Our vet actually asked if they could use him for an ad, he's just soooo cute and sweet. With the breed, he's also hypoallergenic, won't shed, and has hair and not fur so he doesn't give off a dog smell. He only barks when you're playing with him or running from him, and we have not had any issues with him biting. He follows me everywhere and loves to be given attention but is not annoying - he just likes to have his bone, cuddle and watch tv! He also sleeps through the night cuddled up right next to me with his head on the pillow. I was used to having large outdoor dogs, and this was my first experience with a small indoor dog so I wasn't really sure what to expect because I had mostly seen the snippy, hyper small dogs, but so far we and everyone else has fallen in love with him. Here is a picture of him when he was four weeks old.

Not all dogs are the same, but both the Havanese and Coton are known as very good dogs and our experience has been absolutely wonderful. I would definitely recommend a Havaton for a family with small children and/or other pets, as he is not scared of any animals he's met and never barks at them. He would also be good for someone older looking for a companion, as he loves to be held and is a great mix between fun and cuddly.

i dont own a dog, but my fav small breed is westies because the y are so friendly and always really happy. but if i ever had a dog, it would be a rescue dog which can be small too
another smal dog i love is the maltese cos they're not only just a pretty face but they also have a brilliant personaliy! i like Cavalier King Charles Spaniels but they are very highly prone to heart desiese and dont live as long as other dog breeds.
another fav of mine is the poodle. very intellegant, come in any colour you want, any size you want them in, very smart and dont shed!! i'm not too fond of their show cuts though

That's a tuff one: I think the Pomeranian - high energy and a Spitz breed (like Huskies, American Eskimo Dog, and Malmutes) - they take to the cold well, are good watch dogs, and (to my eye) cute.

French Bulldogs.
Hearty, tough, loving, fairly small but can hang with the big dogs.
I could do without the gas though.

None. I like "real" dogs that you can go hiking with and don't yap constantly. Though whenever I see a Norfolk Terrier or Scottie I do go "aww".
