Well if you want to see her do it then take her out of her cage find a good spot on the floor and let her go. She may hide at first but after she gets used to the area and all that room you should see her start to play. That includes Pop-corning. I have a spot in my family room I block off and let my guinea pigs go. They have so much fun. I have just as much fun watching them go. They run in and out of little things I put down in their Pen. They do all kinds of stunts get running really fast popcorn right into a twist. Loss his footing fall on his face get up shake it off and do it again and again. They have so much energy just make you happy to watch them having so much fun.

Popcorning is mostly seen in young guinea pigs, although my oldest sow, who is 5, still popcorns like she's a pup.
Does she live on her own? Guinea pigs, being social herd animals, are lonely and inactive when living on their own.
How big is her cage, does she have toys? Commercial cages seriously limit activity, C&C's are the best alternative.

My 2 female guinea pigs tend to do it certain times of day, and especially when I JUST give them a giant mess of hay. They will seriously go to town on that hay like they are doing a little happy food dance or something. If they aren't popcorning, I wouldn't say it is necessarily a problem, but you might try taking them out of the cage and letting them run around for a while (we use a little play pen thing we made using those wire shelving units you see in Target) and giving them a giant pile of hay for them to attack.

Our guinea pig, who is approximately 2.5 yrs old, does this fairly often, especially when he's being spoken to or the kitten is hanging out near him. He just loves that kitten ;-)
Happy rats also popcorn, btw, & I've *heard* that mice do it too but I haven't seen any of our mice popcorning.

Guinea pigs usually popcorn when they are young. A very happy adult pigs can start popcorning when its happy too. Well I suspect your pigs aren't very happy. Take them outside for a walk, exercise them, feed them a treat or two, and love them and maybe they will popcorn a bit!
