They can die from all of the same things other breeds of dogs die from.
Heart related issues are the most common cause of death in ANY breed/mix.

Danes also don't have any shorter life span then do Labs, Goldens, Dobermans,Rottweillers,etc... because of dedicated people who have bred responsibly, doing genetic testing before breeding and worked hard to improve health and longevity in Danes they are living into their teens more and more often and are having fewer health related issues.
Unfortunately there are many irresponsible breeders in all breeds (and definately mixes) who don't care they just breed..it is these resulting puppies/dogs that often die early and have health issues.

Big dogs like this have a shorter lifespan than small dogs. They become geriatric at 6-8 years old. They usually die of an age related issue such as heart failure.

The leading cause of death for Great Danes is GDV

Hopefully they die of old age. There is no reason to believe that because of its size, the Great dane will end up dying of something else. Great danes are a very sound breed and generally have few breed specific health problems.
Make sure to keep ur dog healthy and active and it will live to a healthy old age.

i dotn think there is a way of dying for different type of dogs

some dogs die of old age, just peacefully
some dogs die of accidents
some dogs die of diseases

but if i had the choice, i'd choose peacefully

if you know your dog is really old and cant smell cant sense anything, then put him/her to sleep
(we had to do that to our 17yr old shizi dog, it was sad, but we didn't want to see him suffer)
