It is actually my boyfriends dog, we moved into an appartment together two months ago, and she pee's everywhere! I have raised 4 dogs before her and never had this much trouble. she is almost 2yrs old, he got her when she was about 8months old, she wasnt potty trained then either. I have tried to get him to disiplyn her but he wont, that is what I think the problem is. What I do is when I catch her in the act I firmly say "No" or "Bad Dog" and such, then I put her nose near it and say "No" again, then tap her on the butt and point at the door and say "outside". Then she imediatly goes to the door and waits for her leash to be put on. but when we get outside. if I stop she just lies down, and if I keep walking she just wont go. I usually then take her back inside and just try to keep a close eye on her. I am even having a vet come and check her out soon to see if it is a medical problem.

Help plz, I am desperate and about given up!

Ok, here is the another problem. she used to be bell trained and crate trained. but she seams to have lost all that. she wont use the bell, and sometimes she will pase infront of the door. she has never had an accedent when we havent been home. she only does it when we are home. and she will go, literatly, everywhere. from the time her cage door is opened she will start peeing and continue until she gets to the door, then she sometimes will pee even more outside. we gave her a bed to lay on, but I had to through it away because she kept peeing on it. I felt bad after that and gave her a big plush rug I found and she did the same thing, and now thats trash. when she does to the right thing and goes compleatly outside I give her, her kong with a treat and praise her. we also limit her food and water times so we can pay more attention to when she is going to go, I even try to take her out everytime I have to go too, but nothing seams to work with her! and It cant be a sent thing, I scrub.

Is she too big for a crate. Because she needs to be crated. You need to clean the house so there is no smell left of her peeing in the house. She should not have food down or water down on the floor. She is to be taken from the crate out doors ONLY to go potty on a leash. Make her concentrate on going potty. NO play. If she doesn't go. Put her back in her crate. If she makes a lot of noise cover the crate. If she still makes a lot of noise quietly pound on the crate but don't say anything. This should shut her up. NEVER respond to her if she is making a lot of noise. If she poops or pees in her crate clean it up do not punish her. It is you fault. You should not put her nose in it or spank her. She likes her pee and poop anyway. Have her on a schedule. After she pees and poops she can have food and water. You can split her food into two servings. After she eats offer her water. If she doesn't drink, she will the next time you offer it. She will figure it out that she is only going to get food and water when you give it to her. The person who does this is Alpha! She is not allowed to play in the house until she is potty trained from the crate. Try to time when she needs to poop and pee.

Your boyfriend isn't going to like it. But you are going to have to put your foot down. You can not have this dog ruining your home. She doesn't want to ruin your home. She just does not understand what you want. She'll get it. Give her a couple of weeks. Be nice to her. Not mean. Take her out often. praise her. give her treats when she does good. She wants to be a good girl. If you can keep the
crate so she can see you and you can talk to her while you are watching TV or doing dishes that is good. Don't isolate her. But if she starts acting up, cover the front of the crate. Get her to be quiet. After she is quiet you can open the front of her crate again.

Every post here has given you all the right things to do. The cleaning of your home is so important. If the N.M. doesn't get it all out. There are others on this board who use different products. We use an industrial product called "Digester". This product site has been recomended. The poster said it worked.

It sounds like you're going about this the completely wrong way, sorry.

She lays down when you take her out because you were too firm with her and she doesn't know what you want of her at that point- since she already did what she had to do.

I can't stress the value of positive reinforcement enough. The only way to fix this problem is to present another pain in the *** for yourself- which will be taking her out much more frequently than is actually necessary. However, this will eliminate the orginal pain in the ***, as she will have less opportunity to go in the house.

When she goes to the bathroom outside, praise her profusely and offer her whatever treats she loves the most. Verbally praise her calmly as she is going and when she's done, praise her excitedly and give her her treat.

If she doesn't go for some period of time outside, try putting her in her crate (if she has one) and then take her out again a few minutes later. This will prevent her from doing the most annoying things that unhousebroken dogs do- peeing or pooping immediately after coming inside. Dogs will rarely soil a small area in which they could not avoid the mess. So if she has to go, she'll probably reconsider when you take her out the second time.

Good luck and remember: make her feel good about herself for doing the right thing, don't make her feel ashamed for doing something that she obviously doesn't know is wrong yet.

*don't rub her nose in it anymore. It doesn't work. (This will make your dog think that the poop or pee itself is bad and then they'll avoid doing it in a place where you would catch it and you'll start finding hidden feces in your house.

Skooter and Substyle have given you the best advice and help. Possitive reinforcement and crating sounds like the best alternatives. Rubing her nose in it is the absolute worst thing you can do. Dogs have to go sometime, just like humans. It isn't the fact that she went to the bathroom, it is where she went that you are upset about. Rubbing her nose in it only confuses her, and makes her fearful.
I just have one addition to their excellent ideas. You have to clean all the areas in your house that she has messed in very thoroughly with an enzyme cleaner. I use Nature's Miracle, but there are others you an get at your local pet store. The enzyme destroys any boilogical substance. Urine and poop included, You have to destroy her scent, so she knows it is not the place to go. Brush up on your patience, because it may take a number of applications to get all the scent out. If she has gone on rugs, you have to make sure the pad, and the floor underneath is completely urine/scent free!! You can use it in the wash if she has gone on some clothes or bedding. Directions are on the bottle.
Sounds nutty, but it works..if you are going to get angry at something, be angry at the mess she has made,,NOT THE DOG.. With a raised voice talk to the spot, let IT know you are not happy cleaning it up. Angrily throw it away or outside where it belongs. You dog will start to get the hint that it isn't what she has done, it is where she had left it!! That with the praise, love and attention and treats if you want, will let her know that outside is the place it belongs...and that makes you happy. She just wants to make you happy.
Good luck. Have patience and give her lots of love and attention when she is good. Ignore her when she is bad. And clean everything thoroughly.

Getting him in all possibility won't resolve the issue, even nonetheless it ought to help. He could have been neutered whilst he replaced right into a three hundred and sixty 5 days old, or so. He ought to be considered by employing your vet to rule out any scientific issues. you could retrain your canines. i offered a canines that replaced into raised in a kennel, in no way lived in the domicile. I caught him, pink-exceeded, three times. a good scolding and a toss exterior, replaced into all it took. you incredibly could have the canines neutered. Intact men can get prostate and testicular cancers. EDIT: All male canines mark, intact or no longer. I even have 4 men, 3 neutered, and one intact. no person marks in the domicile.

CHEERS! To substyle!!! LISTEN to that advice. Every word. It will not happen overnight.... but a lot sooner than you'd think if you use positive reinforcement. Dogs want to please us and we have to show them what they did RIGHT, and praise on them like they just won the puppy lottery!
You see already that scolding has gotten you only to frustration.
Learn about training...
Scolding/yelling/hitting will only make a dog "react" to your immediate anger/mood. NOT actually solve that root problem.

Do yourself & the dog a favor and learn true positive discipline.
Take it from a dog trainer.
