You can train your bird to poop only in his cage. Start by using a phrase every time he poops; we use "smile". Time between the poops (usually 10 - 15 minutes) and then remove him from his cage and every 10 -15 minutes return him to the cage and give him the command to poop. Be sure to praise him when he does as asked. Once you've got him eliminating on command, start increasing the time he is away from the cage and before you return him to poop. Eventually, he should be able to hold his eliminations for up to an hour and a half.

Below are a couple of articles on the subject.

If you can figure this on out, let me know! But, there are bird diapers. I have one for my cockatiel. Go to http://www.avianfashions.com/faqs.htm. The diaper even has a harness so you can take your bird for walks. My bird loves hers! Well, she hates to put it on, but once she goes out in the sun and meets people she has a ball!

My sister trained her tiel to go in one place, (in his cage always), but out of his cage he did it in the bathroom sink. It took about three months and he was very young when she started the training process, she said it took a lot of patience and knowing your tiels habits help, being young it helped a lot. There are problems though when something in his environment has changed or something all of a sudden happened he will get scared and go wherever. I have not been so lucky with mine, but I am always around when he is out so the "accidents" are easy to clean up. Good Luck

You can't. Birds just poop when they poop, they don't have sufficient control to be 'trained' to poop in a particular place. Sorry!
