A koala is a wild animal and there are two immediate disadvantages
One is to the animal - it takes special feeding and care and an environment you probably cannot provide, so you are not doing the best for the creature
Second, it is dangerous. It is a bear, although smaller and cuddly - and at some point instincts can assert themselves and those claws are dangerous.
I suspect it is also illegal but that can vary depending on where you live.
buy a nice stuffed koala toy and get yourself a dog.

Koalas in captivity have a much shorter lifespan than in the wild..
they do not like any stress.. they do not like being handled..
the ones used to tourist attractions were you get your pic taken with one live only 2 years as opposed to wild ones which can live 10 years+
anybody who wants an exotic pet typically does becuase they have low self esteme and think a cool pet will make them "cool"
when really it just points out who has low self esteme and thinks having a cool pet will make them cool

No! Koalas are wild animals not pets. It amazes me what people thing they can own now a days. If your fostering one for a zoo then OK.
They love to climb and they will climb on everything so things falling off of tables and shelves may be dangerous to them.
Ummmmmmmm. . . . .I don't think there are any advantages for you or it.

No you can't just bring a koala home as a pass. You would need a permit to bring one home. Or else you wwill go to jail. Hoped that helped.

You'll need a permit. Koalas are supposed to be in their own natural habitat any way.

You need a permit. Second of all, no! They belong in their own environment. Unless you're a rescue and you take care of them as babies and then you set them free when they're ready I really don't think you should.

Only if you have a lot of money. They only eat eucalyptus leaves. You also need a tree because they spend their entire life up in one.
