This puppy is way too young to be away from the mother and litter. You should not worm it yourself take it to the vet and get it wormed and vaccinated.

I got my beagle pup at 5 weeks mom won't feed her any more. You need to take her to the vet. They don't worm until 8 weeks and then she was wormed once a month for 3 months. Another thing is you need to know what to feed her. dry food even wet down or canned food will give her diarhia. And then she'll get dihidrated which is not good. The vet told me to boil chicken and remove the skin. Cut very small and mix it with cooked white rice. no seasonings. I also had to give her puppy formula. feeding with a dropper. But if she could go back to the mother for a couple more weeks that would be best. The owner should of known better. Good luck.

Before I answer your quaestion...this puppy needs to be taken back to the breeder asap..she should not have been taken from mom & littermates unti lshe had at least completed her 7th week. as a matter of fact it is against the law in most states to buy, sell, give away or adopt any puppy that hasn't completed it's 7th week of life and in some states it is 8 weeks. No responsible breeder allows a puppy to go to a new home until 8 weeks.

As for deworming a puppy should be dewormed with a vet approved dewormer at 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks and then periodically after.

Even if mom won't feed the puppy anymore, they need to stay with her until 8-10 weeks of age. She teaches them important things like playing nicely, sharing food etc. A puppy taken away too soon many times has behavioral problems. SO many people think that because the mom isn't nursing they are done raising them- they arent'. Those weeks from 5-10 weeks are VERY important psychologically for a puppy.

I would consult a vet, and get a safe dewormer for this age.

A five week old puppy is way too young to be taken away from it's mother. Your vet would be the best person to ask about when to worm her.

A 5 wk old pup should still be with her mother!

Do not worm a puppy. Have a vet do a fecal test to determine if there are worms and what kind.

Worm the puppy at about 8 weeks.
The best way is to bring a stool sample to the vets-this way they can give you the best wormer for the worms.

My vet told me not to worm young puppies unless they actually have worms; ie. only have they have been checked and found to have worms.

oooo That's too young to leave her mother. Consult your vet. He/She will give you the correct dewormer. After that worming should be done on an as needed basis.

Why do you have such a young puppy? It should still be living with it's mother and littermates. It's far too young to be away from its mother. You should be ashamed of yourself.
