Yes, my gang is going to be utterly spoiled this year! Besides my own two male Great Danes, I have two rescue female Danes here. Both of them are recovering from being beaten, starved and abused. They are gentle loving cuddlebugs and neither one has ever known a Christmas.
So I bought a huge bag of chicken basted chewies, knuckle bones, marrow bones, balls, stuffed toys and rope toys. I baked dog treats and puppy muffins (made with aged cheddar and real liver, messy to make, but fun!, and approved by the quality control inspectors!).
They have new blankets for their beds as well. With four tails whipping around our legs, we decided to forego a Christmas tree this year. But the look on their faces is far better than the missing tree.
And on Christmas Day, they will get their greatest treat of all, their daily run through the woods to the lake, leaping and tearing through the fields, in the first time of their lives they have ever been able to run as a Dane should.
And while we enjoy their pleasure, we think of the less fortunate animals, and wish they were all as lucky.

Yup! It's the funnest shopping I do. There's actually animals in the stores, hehe. I get her a dog bone thing, and I get her a squeaky toy. Well, she finishes with her gifts in about a day, after she destroys both of the things. But still, it's fun to give her presents. She unwraps them herself :) She usually gets a peak of them, then gets really excited, heheh. Oh I forgot about my other pets! For my turtle, he's a water turtle, so I get him guppies. He loves to eat them, even though I don't love to watch him do it. For my chinchilla, I give her a tube she can chew and go in cause she loves to go through things and be in dark places, and other things to chew, because she chews anything possible! She stole a paper from my sister's desk, she chewed a blanket, she chewed a dog toy, everything!

I did not have enough money to by ANYONE gifts this year, but i wanted to get my 2 kitties a stocking SOO bad. I would have filled it with cat treats, those mousey toys they like, a new toy that is attached to a stick by a string (they DESTROYED their first one), cat nip and cat nip toys, And i would have put a plastic bag in there for my kitten. She goes CRAZY over it, hiding in it, then pouncing on it... I wish i could have got those things for them.

But my friend from work bought her kitty one of those giant kitty play house things, covered in carpet. And she also bought her dogs toys and treats.

Yes, I get my kitties gifts. ;) Recently I found out they LOVE catnip so I'm getting some catnip toys from "Santa Claws" (misspelling intentional). I tried to get them interested in it before a few years ago but they turned their noses up at it. Guess cats' tastes do change over time just like ours!

No way....people who buy their pets gifts are a litlle PYSCHO if you ask me. I do own pets myself too, in case you were wondering and I DO love them. I just think people go WAY overboard with gifts and such for an animal they didn't give birth to, but sure act like they did!! Dogs and cats and others are NOT children!!
