This year is the year of the dog. Nothing special happened. It's the same thing that happens every year. Maybe in China something's different, but not here

Great question. I'm going to watch this. It will be good to be done with '06. Scary year. I've been trying to keep low-profile all year.
I think this dog year will bring a bit too much decadence and over-indulgence. Good year to take some chances...but not too excessive. Economy will be ok and up big in China. Wars and fighting will get more frantic. We will go into '08 unprepared and '08 could be tough.

Hopefully a greater awareness of pet homelessness- increased adoption/decreased breeding, increased spay/neuter, and increased funding for animal welfare organizations.
