reason now she is going potty all over the house. we have taken her to the vet and they said she checks out fine. what reasons do they do this if anyone has ideas please tell me, because my husbands says if she continues this she is going to the shelter. this saddens me as i dont want to give her up. she is even going number two on the rugs now. Also, we have tried everything in the world to rid her of her fleas and for some reason they wont go away, we tried all the remedies we vacuum with flea powder she wears a flea collar etc you name it, and she is an indoor only cat in case anyone asks. We live in florida and one of my friends said fleas are worse in warmer climates, is that true? i guess i have asked too many questions, sorry but i am really scratching my head over this cat. thank you very much and since i am writing this on christmas eve, merry christmas to you all and i hope you are blessed beyond measure this holiday season.

Let me suggest that you see another vet. My cat only does that when he has a Urinary Tract infection and the poopie part could be that your cat is constipated. Seriously!! I asked my vet about it and she said if a cat suddenly stops using it's litter box it's because it is associating the box with discomfort and pain. If it looks like your cat is constipated try some Metamucil or some pumpkin pie filling. (my vet's recommendations) And if your cat is making frequent trips to it's box but still not using it AND if it meows alot and seems really restless, please see another vet for sure.

I changed my cats litter to the news paper stuff and he refused to use it and started going all over the house as soon as I went back to the scoopable litter he stopped the messing on the floors. Make sure the litter stays in the same place, kept clean, she does not have a UTI and that nothing is near her litter that may be frightening her. Even a indoor cat need to be treated with a flea med monthly like Frontline Plus on the back of her neck. All it takes is one flea to ride on your pants leg from outside! I hope you can help her and she does not have to loose her home and you your pet. I was told by my vet (texas) that this year has been the worst flea year. O yeah and about the rug, if she is gone on it, it needs to be cleaned or she will think it is her place to go, it is now marked as such. I just read that cats hate orange smell??? try spraying a orange fragrance on the rug maybe that will stop her? Happy Holidays!

I lived in florida for 7 years and fleas are the worst to get rid off. Number one you have to get frontline for you cat nothing over the counter is going to work. I would take her to another vet it sounds like a uti. Do you use dust free litter? Your going to have to get a flea bomb. Depending on the size of your home, the cans will tell you how many. Its the only thing that will work. You have to stay out of the house for 6 hours and remove pets and plants. When you come home everything has to be washed. Sand fleas are the worst the come in on your cloths so this is some thing you have to keep up on. Good luck. And a very Merry Christmas

please the flea collar is doing nothing for the fleas . Go to your VET and get the cat some Frontline Plus. that will get rid of the fleas!
if you have carpet go to the pet stoe and get some flea powder for the carpets taht you put on ,let sit for 30 min and then vacuum off.
the litter box needs to be cleaned 2-3 days ! fresh sand etc. also take a spraybottle and spray her with some water when you see her get down to pee. this will help too .
sometimes cat's get mad at their owners for some or other reason ,due to changes to their enbviroments etc. I also would suggest to you to change the vet ,to check for Urinary trackt infection!

Merry Christmas and a happy new year

1) Fleas : Get Frontline Plus from your vet; AND get a good flea
"bomb" spray for the house

2) #2 : It could be behavioral. Our cat does the same thing on occasion.

Good luckl & Merry Xmas.

if she's no longer utilizing it wisely and used to, there's a reason. attempt getting clutter packing boxes with hoods and in case you're there, get yet another container. you have a million.5 packing boxes on your place consistent with cat. Cats usually have "blunders" while they do in comparison to something. Are you cleansing the container on a regular basis? Did something substitute interior the domicile? Does she have a UTI or different scientific subject? i'm having a wager in case you spend a pair greater money and get a pair clutter packing boxes with hoods, determine they're wiped sparkling on a regular basis, that's going to be ok.

we have the same problem with our cat i what you can do is if you are going out put it in a room with its litterbox and some food and water and if you catch it useing the bathroom somwhere else then run it to the litterbox but if its to late show it what it did and bring it to the litterbox and show it the litterbox good luck and i hope it works (i have no clue about the fleas though)
