Pets - 24 December 2006

Our Laso Apso sp? has four ticks on him with the heads imbeded but he has scratched the bodies off leaving only the heads. He has a Hartz flea and tick collar plus is treated on a monthly basis with the Hartz Control 1 pet care system which all are kept up to date. Any thoughts on how to treat him now and to prevent future ticks?

I take every dog on a dog by dog basis but I really don't care much for Dachsunds or Chihuahuas. The Dachsunds especially.

We have a 6 year old dog, his ears never used to be much of a problem but lately he is constontly scratching them, have looked but cant see any mites or such like but they smell,we do trim the hair round his ears when this gets matted.
